Rebecca
R ebecca was tired. Every muscle in her body seemed slow and not willing to cooperate.
Mitch whispered, “I want you so bad that I ache for you.”
She kissed him and said, “I feel like I’m going to explode.”
After a few more whispers of what they wanted to do to each other, they rejoined the family in the living room and sat together on one of the couches. As had become their new ritual today, she cuddled against Mitch and shut her eyes.
“Someone looks very tired,” Victoria observed.
“Me or her?” Mitch asked as his hand gently rubbed Rebecca’s back.
“Both of you, actually,” Victoria said.
“I didn’t sleep well last night. I was scared it was all just a dream,” Rebecca whispered.
“And I dozed, but when I woke up, I’d touch her, making sure she was real,” Mitch added.
“Why don’t you two go to bed?” Victoria asked. “We don’t need to be entertained.”
“You both look like you’re sleepwalking,” Alex said.
“I think we are,” Rebecca managed. “The adrenaline rush has ended.”
Mitch stood with a little wobble, then extended his hand to Rebecca, who joined him.
They said goodnight to everyone, and went into their bedroom, and shut the door.
Mitch pulled her to him and kissed her. “Come on, I have an idea. Let’s take a shower.”
They slipped out of their clothing, and Mitch adjusted the water as Rebecca pinned up her hair, aware that he was watching her. She stretched her body, arching her back a little as his eyes traveled over her.
He ran a finger from hip to breast along her skin, which made her shiver.
“Come here,” he whispered as he sat on a little stone bench that extended from the wall.
She smiled and joined him in the shower, whispering, “Why didn’t we think of this last night?”
“By the time we got in the shower, my brain had shut off,” he whispered as he placed his hands on her hips and slowly guided her onto his lap. She straddled him and then sunk onto his erection and gasped as her feet touched the floor.
“Oh Mitch, I’m…pinned…”
“Good, now start to rock,” he said.
Leaning her forehead to his, she moaned a little and then slowly started to move. She rocked her hips as he lifted into her. When her gasps hitched, he slipped his hand between them and rubbed her with his deft thumb and forefinger until she threw her head back and stifled her climax.
Panting, she kissed him on the lips, on his face, and his neck, any place she could reach as her body quaked and trembled.
Their eyes met, and he smiled at her before lowering his head and kissing her right breast and then the left.
She rocked her body hard against him, lifting until she pulled away from his erection and then taking it in quickly. The fourth time she did this, she saw him grimace in erotic relief as his own climax took over his body.
After they finished showering, they climbed into bed and began kissing, their skin-to-skin contact all that they needed. Before long, they were making love again, both of them trying to be quiet as each thrust reminded them that they were together, the longing slowly fueling their passion.
And this time, when Rebecca climaxed, she screamed into her pillow as Mitch smiled and then had to grab his own pillow.
They both lay on their sides, facing each other and gently touching each other. Rebecca carefully examined each scar she could see.
“I thought they were scratches, but now I can see that you had stitches,” she said, her voice hitching a little.
“I actually had four places with stitches, but they at least made sure my wounds all healed well,” he said, pointing out a couple of the spots.
Rebecca kissed each spot and then met his eyes.
He could read her concern as if she’d voiced it. “I’m here. It is okay.”
She nodded, and he kissed her.
“I’ve been thinking,” Mitch said.
“Don’t do too much of that,” she said, reaching down to stroke him. She had missed this intimacy with him. “Unless it is with this.”
He smiled and whispered, “I think you know, but in case you don’t, I want to be inside of you at every chance I can. Making sweet love to you, screwing your brains out, or just having wild sex, I love that we do it all.”
“When the parents leave, will you screw my brains out? I mean, we just made sweet love, and last night, that last time was kinda wild,” she said. “I liked it.”
“Your wish is my command, my love,” he said and then kissed her. Then, he said, “Let’s get married again on our anniversary. Then let’s take Emily and go for a honeymoon on St. Barts. When we are ready, we come back to Portland, look into working for your family, and buy a house, maybe get a dog.”
“I want the house to have a white picket fence, and I want a black lab.”
Mitch nodded. “I will make that happen.”
***Mitch***
He was elated to find himself in her arms when he woke the next morning. Mitch carefully pulled away from Rebecca, stepped into the bathroom, and took a shower. Once he dressed, he checked on Rebecca again and noticed she was sleeping deeply. She deserved it.
He quietly picked Emily out of her crib, changed her diaper, and headed into the living room. It was almost 9:30, and the rest of the family was up, sitting around the breakfast table and drinking coffee.
“There you are,” Victoria greeted with a broad smile.
“Bex was up a few times with this one, so I let her sleep in,” he said, sitting down at one of the empty chairs.
“My poor baby, all the stress of the last year is catching up with her,” Victoria said as Mitch gently rubbed his baby’s back and marveled at how perfect she was.
“I’m sorry for the pain I’ve caused,” Mitch said as he held Emily and looked down at her.
“I think it showed you how much you are loved,” Victoria said. “We are all very thankful.”
“And so very lucky,” he said, and added, “I didn’t know how good babies smell.”
“They do smell nice. And I made your favorite,” Victoria said as she placed a plate of blueberry pancakes with a side of bacon in front of him.
“I can’t believe you remembered, Vic,” he said softly. “It smells wonderful.”
“Of course, my sweet boy,” she said as she set a cup of coffee before him and then kissed his cheek. “Give me my baby. I promise to give her back when you are done eating, maybe.”
He handed her the baby, and then Alex punched his arm and said, “Sometimes, I think you are Mom’s favorite.”
“No doubt about it. Your mother has always loved Mitch,” Garrison said, folding his newspaper and taking a sip of coffee.
Rebecca appeared in a floral silk robe, looking sleepy as she took the chair next to her husband.
“Good morning,” she said to her family. Mitch leaned toward her for a kiss. She leaned into him, and he savored the feel of her. Rebecca was real and in his arms. Eventually, he let her go and sunk back into his chair.
“I’ll have to get used to that. Seeing my best friend kiss my sister isn’t easy,” Alex said.
“We do a lot more than kissing,” Rebecca said as her mother set a plate before her and then added, “Thanks, Mom. I’d better eat fast. I bet Emily wants breakfast.”
Victoria showed Rebecca a bottle of milk Rebecca had pumped the day before. “Stop torturing your brother and enjoy your breakfast. I can take care of this feeding.”
Mitch didn’t think he’d tasted anything better in years. The pancakes were amazing, but his stomach wasn’t used to anything but horrible curry. After a few bites, he pushed the plate away, looked at the bottle in Victoria’s hand, and said, “May I?”
“Of course,” Victoria said. Victoria handed Emily to Mitch, and she gave him the bottle with some instructions.
The baby sucked hungrily on the bottle as Mitch held her in his arms. His baby.
His daughter. It was all he could do to hold it together.
It must have shown because after a few minutes, Rebecca put her arm around him and rubbed his shoulder.
Alex took photos, and Mitch was glad to have the moment with his wife and child.
Rebecca kissed his cheek and returned to her pancakes.
“We made some decisions last night,” Rebecca said between bites of her breakfast.
“I hope Portland made the cut,” her father said.
Rebecca looked at Mitch, who said, “Yes, I think we are excited about Portland.”
Victoria clapped her hands together and said, “All my babies in Portland. I get to be close to this little one.” She looked lovingly at Emily.
“That is the plan. I was wondering if you could help us out with something else,” Rebecca said to her mother.
“What do you need? I’d be more than happy to help decorate your house.”
“We will take you up on that,” Mitch said. “I loved Rebecca’s apartment in New York, but we have something a bit more pressing. It is our first wedding anniversary next week, and we would like to get married again.”
Then Rebecca completed his thought by adding, “And we were wondering if you wanted to plan it for us. That way, you can all be a part of it, and we know it will be done right.”
“Then we will fly off with Emily for a two-week honeymoon to Saint Barts and for a little R&R,” Mitch added.
“May I give away the bride this time?” Garrison asked.
“Yes, Dad,” Rebecca said.
“Plan a wedding in a week?” Victoria asked.
“Well, we can get married at the hotel. Alex or someone else could officiate. I mean, we are already legally married. The catering staff can do the reception, but it will be just the family, more like a nice dinner, so I think you can do it,” Rebecca said.
“Damn right, I can. Flowers, photographer, and, of course, you both need the proper attire,” Victoria said.
“I actually need more than just one suit,” Mitch said. “I only have a couple of things. I need everything.”
“I donated most of his clothing,” Rebecca said, looking at Mitch. “I’m sorry.”
“You kept my favorite things, a few ties and an old fleece pullover,” Mitch said.
“And you have the clothes from the luggage returned from Saudi Arabia,” she said. “But most of those items are Donovan Securities logo attire, so they need to go.”
“I agree, Bex.”
“Oh, I’d be delighted to begin your new wardrobe,” Victoria said with a glint in her eye.
“Not too much in the beginning. I’m planning on putting on some weight,” he said.
“And anything you want us to take on the honeymoon. I think we both could use a few vacation duds,” Rebecca said.
Victoria smiled and hugged her daughter as she said, “This is going to be such fun!”
“Keep track of what you spend, and we will pay you back,” Mitch said.
“Come to think of it, we haven’t given you a wedding present. This is all our treat,” Victoria said.
Mitch looked at Garrison, who smiled at his wife and nodded in agreement.
Before everyone left that afternoon, Victoria made several pages of notes, including Mitch’s sizes and Rebecca’s measurements for a wedding dress.
When the last of the Stark vehicles had left their little beach house, and the baby had been fed and went down for a three-hour nap in her room, Mitch turned to Rebecca and asked, “Feel like a nap?”
She kissed him hard on the lips and playfully said, “Maybe later. First, I want you to make love to me... Are you up for it?”
“Yes, I think I can manage that,” he said, taking her hand and leading her to the bedroom.
