I shake my head, stretching out my feet across the floorboard. “Nope, not this time. You may not believe me, but I’m done for real. Besides, he is happy with his new older boyfriend anyway, who buys him everything he wants.”
"Better him than you,” Maverick says before turning onto the street of the restaurant.
"Yup. I actually had a date today.” Instead of the guy I had coffee with flashing in my mind when I said that, all I see is Ben. All Ben and I had was an awkward encounter in the library.
I can tell that piques Mavericks interest when his eyes are on me the moment he parks. “Oh yeah? Anyone I know?”
I shake my head. “No, it was someone Rick set me up with. Nothing came of it though, just another Kyle mixing up a Daddy Dom with a sugar daddy.”
He laughs. “Man, I’m so glad I don’t have to deal with all that. Don’t worry man, you’ll find the right one someday. I never thought I would and look at me now, happier than I've ever been with Casey.”
Mavericks eyes still light up every time he says Casey’s name. I couldn’t wait until the day came when I met a guy who had the same effect on me. Maybe I already had.
