“What?”
“Just can’t wait to get back to the room.” He squeezed my knee.
“Theo Sutherland. You are insatiable.”
Then he winked. “We’re on holiday and I’m feelin’ good, darlin’. You’re gonna have to beat me off with a stick for the next couple of days.”
And I was totally, completely, one hundred percent okay with that.
“Hey Theo?”
He cocked his head to the side. “Yeah?”
“Thanks for catching me.”
A surprised and relieved look came over his face. I swear it was mixed with a little bit of pride. “You are most welcome.”
I tended to focus on Theo a lot more than I focused on myself. Maybe it was a preservation instinct to protect my wild and trusting heart, but I think it was more than that. I connected so quickly and easily with Theo. I felt his hesitation and doubts about where he fit in the world as strongly as I felt my own. It was easy to focus on him while I was trying to figure out who this strange mysterious man was.
I didn’t like to look inward on myself any more than I had to. I didn’t always like the answers I found and there were some big decisions coming up in my life. Things I was going to have to face whether I liked it or not. I’d run away to London instead of standing up and dealing with the issues I was facing at home.
Sitting across from Theo I realized it was a good thing. I needed to run away—to get outside of my routine and shake things up so I could see what mattered. In a way I was finally learning who I was, because I felt safe enough to stop and look around.
Theo did that.
Maybe we accidentally found each other. Or maybe we were the only two people lost in the same room that night. I’ll never understand how two people, out of the billions in the world, find each other.
“Let’s go back to the hotel,” I said. “I want to show you how much I appreciate it.”
Theo didn’t waste any time paying the bill. He dropped some cash on the table and we were gone in a flash.

“Doyou think it will stop raining long enough for us to leave this room?” I was naked, the fire was blazing, and the rain had been falling in steady sheets all morning. Truth be told, I was blissfully happy right where I was, but I was also curious to see more of the town.
Theo flicked his phone up long enough to read the screen. “There will be a break this afternoon. Don’t worry, I’ll get you out long enough to make you realize you shouldn’t have left.”
I shook my head and grinned.
After sleeping in, we’d ordered room service and slowly picked our way through waffles and breakfast meats. Now we were working on some sort of quiche and a bottle of champagne. I was blissfully drunk for ten o’clock in the morning and so was Theo. It was a gorgeous change of pace to see him naked and buzzed before noon.
“Vacation suits you,” I said.
He rolled me on top of him. “Are you trying to turn me soft? Is this my downfall?”
I nuzzled his neck and tilted my hips until I could rub myself along his semi-erect cock. “You’ll work yourself to death if I don’t intervene. Besides, there are worse ways to go.”
“Oh much, much worse. Some might even say this is actually closer to heaven.”
I ran my fingers over his skin. “Do you think it’s your super brain that makes you so good at sex? Like, do you think doctors are better at sex because they know the body so well? Or is that even a factor? Maybe it’s more a systems kind of thing? Are psychiatrists better at sex because they understand the brain?” I sucked in a gasp. “Oh… I bet they’re mind fucks to have sex with…”
Theo shook his head and laughed. “Listening to you think is incredibly amusing.”
He was cute. “But do you think I’m right? Let’s not lose sight of what’s important.”
“I take it you’ve not slept with a doctor or psychiatrist to find out?”
I frowned. “Obviously.”
