Story: Tainted Romance
‘Have I ever come crying to you? Plus, if I came to you upset, that would mean I would be expecting you to care for me, which we both know you wouldn’t.’
‘Allie, you are mine, and I have a responsibility for your safety so I’m ending this before it gets out of control.’He was deadly serious. His arms were crossed tightly, and his eyes shone with frustration.‘I won’t be watching him hurt you.’
‘You know, Zane, I’m starting to get the impression you care for me.’
‘I don’t get a choice.’His words were a double-edged knife.
‘Nothing is going to happen between Taylor and me, so just mind your own business, Zane. Taylor wants this car, and you are his best friend, remember,’I spat the words into his mind.
Zane wanted me because he couldn’t have me, and I wanted him because my blood craved his touch. It wasn’t fair.
Chapter Ten
"Your boyfriend is looking at you again." Chase smirked, teasing me.
I slammed my locker door and shot Taylor the bird. "He isn't my boyfriend," I snapped at Chase. "I've explained this to you three times already."
"Whatever." Chase slumped his arm over my shoulder and walked beside me down the hall. "You know he keeps looking at you."
"Taylor doesn't understand personal space."
"I wasn't talking about him." Chase shot a glance over his shoulder. "I'm talking about Prince Toss Face."
"Zane?"
"Do you know another Prince Toss Face?" He smirked at me.
I was more than aware of Zane's eyes. All the time I felt his eyes on me, and I wanted to yell at him to stop looking at me.
While Taylor was taking every chance possible to make my life a little bit worse, this morning he slapped me on the ass in front of everyone. In science, he made a comment about him and I having 'an unexplainable amount of chemistry in the bedroom.'
At lunch, he surprised me and stole a kiss which I think got a stronger reaction from Zane then it did me.
I still couldn't be sure who I wanted to kill more. Zane for not stepping up and telling everyone I was his, or Taylor who was taking so much advantage of this situation.
"BABE!"
I rolled my eyes, and Chase shot me an 'it sucks to be you' look.
"See you in English." He smirked before striding off, while I turned around to see dear old Taylor walking towards me.
Why was he grinning like that?
I narrowed my eyes at him and crossed my arms, trying to prepare for whatever Taylor was about to launch at me.
"You won't believe what Zane just told me." Taylor smirked and of course had to touch me.
What happened to the sweet guy from the meeting? Perhaps I was just being a bitch.
"What did Zane tell you?" I shot a cold glance at Zane, who was, of course, standing next to Taylor. It was like Zane had become glued to Taylor's side since Taylor and I came out as 'mates.'
"That his dad booked the cabin this weekend."
My stomach dropped. My mind cleared, and my blood ran cold with fear.
"I'm not going." The most understated sentence of the century. I could think of many more terms and words to add to it.
I couldn't stop the glare I fired at Zane. Why the hell was he smiling?
