Story: Submission
"A Pepsi, not an alcoholic drink."
"Oh."
"Gage texted me that she seemed to finally be relaxing. She’s fine for now.”
“Oh.” I smile.
“So may I proceed, Miss Taylor?”
“Have your way with me, Mr. Middleton,” I say in the sexiest voice I can muster.
Hunter grins as his hand fidgets with the buttons of my blouse. But just as things are about to heat up, there’s a knock on the door. “Boss, you have a visitor.”
“I couldn’t make this shit up if I tried,” Hunter says in sexual frustration.
“Yeah, but you can’t ignore him,” I say with disappointment that we’ve been interrupted as well.
“If I don’t fuck you soon, I’m going to kill someone,” he growls, and my panties dampen. God knows I want him, too, as I stare at the large bulge in his crotch.
“Later.”
His eyes are hungry as they run over my clothed body, and a shiver of desire passes through me. I’ve never been wanted with such intensity by any man. It’s one of the traits I find so attractive about Hunter. I’m utterly addicted to the way this man wants me. Who wouldn’t be?
“Sorry, boss.”
It’s Parker’s voice on the other side of the door, and both of us know that if he’s interrupting us, there must be a good reason.
Hunter adjusts my blouse, tucking it back into my skirt, and says darkly, “I’m going to come up with a reason to shoot him today.”
“He might have saved your life today.”
“It’s his job to keep me alive.”
“Don’t shoot him. I like him.”
Hunter just gives me a dirty look before telling Parker to enter.
“I need to handle a few things anyway before I leave for the night,” I add.
“Wait for me to drive you and Lena back to the apartment,” Hunter orders sharply. “And don’t forget your gun.”
I close the door behind me, stare at the piece of deadly metal in my hand, and pray that I never have to use it.
I might not survive that.
Chapter 22
The Elephant In The Room
Megan
“Are you coming home tonight?” I call Naomi and ask her.
The distance between me and my friend and roommate has only grown, although I’m trying my best to hold on to it. Outside of Hunter, she may be the only other person on the planet I “sort of” trust.
Between a few breakfasts and early dinners before our shifts, Hunter has been spending more time in my apartment than he ever has.
I like it.
