Story: See You Next Month
“We’d go here,” Isabella said, reaching for the picture next to Kelsey’s computer.
“That was such a good day,” Kelsey said.
“This day is, too.” Isabella wrapped her arms around Kelsey’s neck and pulled her in for a long, slow kiss.
Kelsey pulled away and took a deep breath. She reached for her phone and began to type.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m sending Emma a text telling them we’ll see them after the movie is over.” Kelsey smiled.
Isabella chuckled and stood up. “Kelsey Kenny, I love you more every day.”
Kelsey took Isabella’s hand and led them to her bedroom.

Isabella parked her car and looked up at the office building in front of her. She’d decided to pay Spencer a visit at work. Isabella thought it might be better to talk to him at his office in hopes of controlling her temper.
After discovering the comments on the website, Isabella thought her anger would dissipate, but it had seemed to grow the closer she got to Charlotte. She’d almost gone to his house when they’d gotten in from Denver last night, but had thought better of it.
“Deep breaths,” she murmured as she got out of the car. She marched up to the building and every step seemed to fuel her fury.
Isabella walked into the reception area and smiled. “Is he in his office?”
The woman behind the desk nodded as her eyes widened. Isabella didn’t give her time to say anything. She walked down the hall and opened Spencer’s door.
“What the fuck, Spencer?” she said angrily after closing the door. “What were you thinking!”
Spencer jumped up and started to come around from behind his desk. He held up his hands and stopped. “I was angry!”
“I get that, but why did you have to post that comment on the website?”
“What makes you think it was me?”
“Really?” Isabella said, putting her hands on her hips and staring at him. “You’re going to try and deny it?”
Spencer sighed and sat back down. “Why couldn’t you be like the other wives? I’m supposed to make the money and you run the house. I’m the protector.”
“So that’s what this is about? You wanted me to be dependent on you? I’m supposed to go to the country club and to charity events? You wanted me to be a trophy wife! When are you going to get it? I don’t need protecting!” Isabella said, raising her voice. “I’ve got myself!” She pointed to her chest. “I’m going to make my own happiness with our sons. If you want to be part of that, fine. If you’re going to be an ass and a dickhead, then they won’t be with you. Don’t tell me I can’t do that because, by damn, I can and will!”
Spencer sat in his chair and sighed.
“Spencer, you don’t have to be jealous.”
“I’m not jealous!” he fired back.
“Yes, you are. You’re jealous of Kelsey’s relationship with the boys. Wyatt and Gus can like you, they can like me, they can like Kelsey, and they can like whomever you choose to be your girlfriend someday. It’s not a competition. They love your parents. They love my mom and dad.”
“Oh…” Spencer said quietly. “Your dad was the best.”
Isabella closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “Yes, he was, but stay on task, Spencer.”
“So now you’re going to talk to me like I’m one of the boys,” he said.
Isabella smirked.
“Okay, I probably deserved that,” he said. “I get it. Our boys can love everybody. It’s not a contest.”
