Page 130 of Only Between Us
She doesn’t say anything more, maybe waiting on me to blow up, lay into her. Maybe I would’ve, in a different timeline. As a different man. But I did everything I could to make sure I get signed. I trained hard. Fought for my reputation. Gave this camp my all. Whatever she’s done no longer matters. It’s out of both our hands now.
And if I don’t get the spot, I’ll still have the laughter, play, and levity Siena brings to my life. A reason to exist off the field, away from the sport. I’ll be just fine. I doubt Naomi could say the same.
All I can do now is chuckle, shake my head at her. “It must be so hard on you, realizing you’re about to lose all this because of me. All over again.”
Naomi’s flush deepens.
“Oh my God, save me.” Siena rushes over to where I’m sitting, head ducked but laughing quietly. “The girls are trying to enlist us to take over for their sitters so they can go out and keep the party going.”
I push my chair back from the table, thrilled by the interruption. “Tell them we have plans.”
“I did! They refuse to take our naked party for an answer.”
Siena hesitates behind her chair, which Naomi is still occupying, then rounds me to grab a different seat.
“No. You sit here.” I tug her into my lap.
She settles in comfortably, smoothing her hands over my chest. “Are you bored?”
“Having the time of my life.”
“Just sitting here?”
“Just staring at you.”
Siena makes a happy sound in her throat and buries her face in my neck, planting kiss after kiss above my shirt collar. “You smell amazing. Have I ever told you that? When does the naked party start?”
“Whenever you’re ready to say goodbye to your new friends.” Siena shivers when I run my fingertips down her back and bring my lips to her ear. “All I could think through dinner was how much better your pussy tastes. I want you bent over the second we get back to the hotel. Need to lick you from behind.”
She squirms in my lap. “Now. We’re saying goodbye right now.”
I give her thigh a couple taps. “Then get going. I’m starving.”
Siena’s up and making her rounds with the people at the bar by the time my dick calms down enough to get to my feet.
It’s not until I collect Siena’s purse slung over the back of her chair that I register Naomi is long gone.
Chapter45Brooks
“Naughty boy, Attwood. You taking me skinny-dipping in broad daylight?”
I laugh into the top of Siena’s head, planting a kiss over her hair as I guide her from behind with hands on her hips. She’s blindfolded with one of my ties, but evidently knows the bustle of Marina del Rey well enough to figure out where I brought her, sight unseen.
Still, she lets me walk her down the marina’s long dock lined with boats until we reach our destination.
She blinks once I whip off the blindfold, eyes acclimating to the bright, morning sunshine. The weather couldn’t be more perfect for us.
“Brooks. You didnot.” Siena’s hand flies up to her mouth. “I thought we were going down to meet your family.”
With the remaining weeks of Rebels training camp only geared toward players on their roster, we’ll be spending the weekend at my parents’ place in San Diego before flying back to Oakwood. We couldn’t be leaving LA on a better note, either. Josh called me over the moon late last night, praising our performance with the Rebels. He’d already spoken to the some of the coaches and, based on whathe’s told me, I’d put money on me joining that roster sooner rather than later.
“We’ll make it to San Diego in time for a late dinner. Hence getting you out of bed at dawn.”
Siena stares at the sailboat docked in front of us. Massive, pristinely white sails and a teal hull—I’d taken a shot in the dark that this was the one she’d spoken about so longingly that day we spent on Shy’s family boat.
“Is it the right one? You said you’d stare at a ship with a teal hull whenever you came here. This was the only one I could find.”
She hurries to brush away her tears before they fall. “Who’d you pay off to get this to ourselves this time? There’s no way it wasn’t booked for the season.”
