“Hey, I just locked three fucking monsters in a closet. I got this.”
“You also forgot the fucking map after telling us you got this. Sorry if I don’t trust your fucking judgment.”
I picked up speed as we headed out of town. I had this all worked out. I was going to slip in behind them, ram them, and run them off the road. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
“I hate to fucking tell you this, but we should have taken a different vehicle. All we’ve got is two guns.”
I snorted. “Just two guns? Hell, we’ve got two guns, four wheels, and a full tank of gas. We’re fucking golden.”
I slammed my foot down, shooting us forward and hitting the front end into the SUV. It jolted forward, then swerved to the side.
“Whoo! Can you feel it, baby?” I shouted, looking over at Johnny. Bullets pierced the windshield and I jerked the wheel, trying my best not to get us shot. In front of us, the other two SUVs chased down Cash and Jason. Gunfire sounded in the distance, but I couldn’t concentrate on that right now. I had to take out this asshole first.
“You want to fucking speed up so they don’t kill us before we have a chance to take them out?”
“What, are you worried? Do you need a Xanax? Maybe a blankie?” I teased as I pulled up alongside the SUV and rammed him toward the ditch. Johnny gripped the door handle, trying not to go bouncing around the car as I slammed into them again.
He shot me an angry look, shaking out his hand. “Jesus Christ! Have you ever heard of making a plan first?”
“I have a plan! Ram, shoot, kill. It’s a great fucking plan. Why don’t you take some initiative,” I argued, pointing out the window, “and start fucking shooting them.”
“I would if you would stop ramming into them. I’m not sticking my hand out the window and getting it chopped off.”
“Oh shit!” I shouted, swerving out of the way when a man leaned out the window with a gun about to fire on us. I slammed on the brakes, but too late. Glass fell over Johnny’s head as he ducked, narrowly avoiding the gunfire. Pain shot through my bicep and I glanced down, staring at the blood dripping from my arm.
“Oh, that’s it,” I snarled. “Now I’m fucking pissed!”
I sped up and rammed them again, shouting at them through the broken glass of the passenger side window. “What the fuck was that? You just fucking shot me!”
“That was the point, asshole!” the man shouted back.
Johnny popped up and fired off several rounds, taking out the guy in the back.
“That’s right. How do you like that, bitch?”
“Guy!” Johnny shouted. My gaze shot forward and my eyes widened as I saw the car sitting right in front of us, abandoned on the side of the road. I swerved at the last moment, watching the two people in the other car, staring at us in absolute terror. I waved with a grin as we passed.
“Speed up!” Johnny commanded. “Hit those fuckers and run them off the road.”
“I got this,” I argued.
“You’ve got shit—that’s what you’ve got.”
“Here’s the plan. I’ll pull up on the passenger side and you can take out the driver.”
“What kind of fucking sense does that make? You want me to shoot at him over you and through the other passenger?”
“Well, you did a shit job of shooting him when he was right the fuck beside you.”
“Fine, just get me up behind them,” he shouted, pointing at the back of the SUV. “I’ll climb in and take them out.”
He shoved his door open slightly and I sped up, pulling up in front of the SUV, then hit the brakes. The SUV slammed into the passenger side door, sending it flying off its hinges.
Johnny slowly looked over at me. “My foot was outside the car.”
“Oops,” I grinned. “At least the door is gone.” I glanced over at him, but he didn’t seem amused by it.
“Just get behind him so I can get on.”
