I stared at him open-mouthed, not sure what to say. “I…I…”

“Why does that matter to me, you may ask?” Finn continued. “BecauseIhad the disaster management plan for the reception.Ihad the biggest lift of everyone.Iwrote a fifteen-page plan covering everything from bar fights to uninvited animals showing up to wedding crashers to a back-up wedding cake—which, by the way—I’m taking home for myself. And yet, nothing happened on my watch.Nada. Everyone else got the thrill of having their planning efforts go into effect, but not me.”

He flung his arm out, but his eyes were smiling. “From here on out, Lexi, you’re on your own in terms of disaster planning. I’m finished.”

He tossed the fifteen-page plan in the air with a sweeping flourish. As the pages fluttered down, he dramatically exited the room to howls of laughter from Hands, Gray, Stefan and Alessa.

Even Slash was chuckling.

I had to admit, I deserved it. But more than that, I was impressed by how hard my friends and family had worked to save me from myself.

I couldn’t ask for much more than that on my wedding day.
