Story: Forever Theirs

“I’m not,” I whispered, throat tight with emotion.

A wide, warm palm pressed to my lower belly, drawing my gaze to Miles. His hazel eyes were locked on the space beneath his hand.

“You’re pregnant?” I nodded. “And you want this? With us?” I nodded again, the motion making the restrained tears flow down my cheeks. “Baby girl,” he rasped, “when?”

“I went into town last week and got a few tests. They all came back the same.”

“We’re going to have a baby!” Aiden yelled, punching his fists into the air.

“Fuck, man, put some pants on so your dick isn’t swinging around so early in the fucking morning,” Miles grumbled.

“Why are you thinking about pants right now? Our girl is pregnant. We’re going to be dads.” Aiden paused his frantic rant and stilled. “Shit, I have so much to do.” He jumped off the bed, still butt-ass naked. “I’ll go get the iPad so we can start ordering…”

I shook my head and turned back to Miles when Aiden disappeared into the other room. “You’re happy?” I asked.

“Happy?”

I nodded.

Palming the back of my head, he pulled me down to press a firm kiss to my forehead. “Happy doesn’t cover it.”

“You’re going to be a great dad,” I told him, unshed tears constricting my throat.

“And you’re going to be the best mom this world has ever seen.”

“I’ve got it,” Aiden cheered and leapt onto the bed to lie beside us. “Okay, so first things first. What do you need, sweetheart? For the pregnancy, then we’ll move on to baby stuff.”

Reaching over, I cupped his jaw in one hand and Miles’s in the other.

“I have everything I need right here.”

And that was the truth.

For the pregnancy.

For after.

For forever.
