Story: For the Gods' Sake
No.No.
This wasn’t supposed to happen. It wasn’t supposed to feel like this.
Adrian’s breath seized, panic hitting him as thoroughly as it hit me.
Because nothing temporary was supposed to feel this good. Hell, nothingat allwas ever supposed to feel this perfect.
“Adrian.” His name was a cry for help.
“I know, honey,” he said, his hand squeezing once at my throat. “I know.”
“Please move.” Even though I was scared of whatwould happen when he did.
Adrian heaved in a ragged breath, then tested a stroke with a shallow roll of his hips.
My head fell back against the pillow, ripping my eyes from his. He thrust again, harder this time and my hands flew to his back for purchase.
“Reyna, honey, look at me.” The command was punctuated with a light squeeze, just enough to make the lightness in my head flare. I listened, only because he had me wrapped up in him and forced to adhere to his every request.
When our eyes collided again, I was lost.
Lost to everything but him and the way his hips moved in solid, sure strokes inside me. His free hand moved my legs higher, so that they were braced on his ribs, before planting it back down on the bed for stability.
And then he destroyed me. His hips moved harder, faster, hitting a spot so right that I had to fight to keep my eyes from rolling back in my head. And with every thrust, the base of him rubbed against my clit, two twin points of pleasure that had a soul-altering orgasm building in my chest.
We didn’t speak—couldn’t really. Nothing but broken whimpers from me and low groans from him.
Adrian worked us both higher and higher until I was holding onto him for dear life, my hands twisting around him as another orgasm crashed through me. That seemed to snap the last of his patience, his strokes growing more frantic as he chased his own release, pouring into me shortly after.
In the wake of it, we stared at each other, fighting for the same breath.
“Reyna…” Adrian began, then cut himself off.
“Again.” It was the only command he’d allow me to issue. And bless him, he listened, pulling out of me just to flip me on my stomach then plunging back into me, his power fueling a stamina that I knew would ruin me.
And I welcomed it, taking every honest piece of him I could get as the storm outside calmed with each roll of his hips.
Chapter 21
Adrian
I woke up to the sun streaming through the windows. It was high, almost completely overhead.
Which, in short, meant that I was fucked.
Reyna stirred on my chest, her long hair flowing over my shoulder and stomach. And I, someone who categorically refused to sleep in the same bed as anyone else, was pressed close to her.
I didn’t even remember falling asleep. We’d fucked quite continuously until dawn until apparently passing out tangled together.
Sometime during the night, my power seemingly decided that it had its fun and wanted to take a break from torturing me.
But that, by no means, meant I felt in control. In fact, I felt more out of control than ever.
My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest. My stomach felt tense and my head was fucking pounding.
The rapid pace of my heart or the sudden tensionin my limbs seemed to be enough to wake Reyna, who curled tighter around me before sighing deeply and lifting her head.
I was such a fucking ass. I’d woken her up.
