Story: Divine II
“What house?” Divine interjected.
“Yours. At least it is now. I bought it for you under my LLC,” I revealed.
“I know you fucking lying,” Syre snapped.
“It’s all yours, Cookie,” I told Divine.
“Liam, you’re the buyer?” she quizzed.
“Yes, and I’m signing it over to you. That’s why I came by.”
“I love you so much,” Divine sang as she threw her arms around me.
“Wait a fucking minute!” Syre rushed toward us.
“I’m pregnant!” Divine blurted out.
“What?” Syre and I asked simultaneously.
“Syre, I’m pregnant, and Liam and I are in love. You can act like an ass all you want to, but you cannot and will not keep me away from the man I love and the father of my child. If you want to be in our child’s life, then you will have to accept that this is real, and it’s happening. Why can’t you just be happy for me?”
“You’re pregnant?”
I couldn’t find my voice, so Syre spoke up first. I was surprised to see the mean mug melt from his face. His eyes softened as he studied Divine’s face and walked closer to her. I think he forgot he was holding a gun because I damn sure did.
My mind was racing a hundred miles per hour. I was about to be a dad.Iwas about to be a dad? I was nervous and excited, but more than anything, I was terrified for Divine and our unborn child.
“I have to get you out of here, baby,” I told her.
“He’s right, D. Don’t make any decisions yet. Look, I gotta bounce, but I’m going to pull back up on you,” Syre said before leaving as abruptly as he came.
Once Syre made his exit, Divine looked at me with knitted brows and worried eyes.
“I-I was about to tell you. That’s why I brought you in here. I wanted to loosen you up first.”
Her anxiousness threw me off. This was a good thing. The circumstances weren’t ideal, but our child was nothing to be apprehensive about. I rushed over to her, scooped her up, and did a little spin once her feet were off the floor. I couldn’t stop myself from laughing as I placed kisses all over her beautiful face.
“We’re having a baby?” I questioned.
“Yes. Liam, I’m so scared, but at the same time, I can’t wait to be a mom.”
“I can’t wait to watch you raise our children.”
“You’re not just going to be sitting around watching,” she sassed.
“Not at all. I can’t wait to raise our children together.”
“Children? There better not be but one bun in this oven. I’m worried enough.”
“Don’t worry, Cookie. I’m going to make sure everything is all right.”
“I know, Lee Lee. I’m just so scared. You know it won’t be long before I start showing.”
“That just lets me know what kind of time I’m working with. I’ll take care of Whitmore. Don’t worry about him.”
“Speaking of Zane, we have a date tonight. It’s something for the Whitmore company.”
“Marry me,” I requested.
