We broke our kiss, panting for air. I leaned my head back against the shower wall and watched him. He slowly opened his dark eyes and rubbed a hand over his dark buzzed hair. “Maya, you’re amazing,” he murmured in awe.

I blushed slightly and had to look away when the reverence in his stare was too much. “Do the three of you do that often?” I asked, changing the subject.

“Do what?”

“Fuck women at the same time?”

His fingers wrapped around my chin, guiding my face up to look at him. “Yes, there’s been others,” he admitted, his eyes serious. “But never like that.”

I wondered what he meant by that, but someone was knocking on the door. “You about done in there?” Kara asked softly from the other side of the door.

“Yeah,” I replied. I pulled away from Marcos, ignoring his probing stare. I grabbed my towel and quickly wrapped it around myself.

Marcos shut off the water while I dressed quickly into my pjs. I tossed Marcos a clean towel from the linen closet and used mine to wrap my hair up. Once I was sure the two of us were covered, I snuck out of the warm bathroom and across the hall to Kara’s bedroom.

Kara gave me a sleepy grin when I walked in. “Have fun?”

I sighed and leaned back against the door, feeling star-struck. “You have no idea.”

Kara just laughed. “My mom will be up soon. I just wanted to make sure you guys were decent and covered before she got up. Nothing like walking out to a pile of naked bodies in the living room.”

I giggled and moved away from the door.

“Come to bed.” Kara patted the mattress next to her. “It’s too early to be awake.”

I grinned and took a seat next to her. Grabbing my backpack off the floor, I pulled out my hair brush and quickly brushed out my long locks. From the hallway I could hear Marcos leaving thebathroom and heading back out to the hall. “We weren’t loud last night, were we?”

“Girl, I put in headphones and have no idea.”

I yawned and put my brush away. With my hair brushed out, I wrapped it up like I was going to put it in a clip, then laid down next to Kara, using a spare pillow. I’d only gotten a couple hours of sleep, I could use some more, and maybe avoid an awkward morning after with Marcos, Jason, and Nico. I didn’t know where I stood with them, and wasn’t about to get my heart broken over a one-night stand.

Thankfully, that wasn’t the case, because when me and Kara woke up several hours later and headed out to the living room, we found it empty and cleaned up, the cushions put back to rights and the blankets put away. On the coffee table in the middle of the room, there was a folded piece of paper with my name on it. Opening it, I found a short note saying, “Had a great time.” Next to the scrawled chicken scratch was their names and numbers, all three of them.

I tucked the note in my pocket, deciding I’d figured out what to do with them later.

Maya

Idecidednottocallor text the guys after our night together. I left things as they were and went back to school feeling like a million bucks. I’d had a great Thanksgiving break, and despite my parents being the usual dicks, I was in great spirits.

Kara invited me to Christmas, but I declined. My sister had managed to get time off, and the two of us were heading to Florida for some fun in the sun.

The second semester of school flew by for me. I started my nursing clinicals, and between that, work, school, and time at the clinic, I barely had time for friends. I caught up with Kara, Stephanie, Arturo and Karma every other Friday night when my friends dragged me out of my dorm room. Terri went out most nights withoutme, but still it was nice catching up with her without the stress of cramming homework between our conversations.

By the end of the school year, I was ready to be done. Even though I had signed up for eight weeks of summer school to put me on track to graduate on time and not need an extra semester like so many other students usually did, I still got three weeks of freedom between my semesters.

It was the last day of living in the dorms for most, so many students were moving out and packing up. Me and Terri had already signed the papers to keep our dorm for the next year, and I paid for my summer tuition so I didn’t have to move out for the summer. It made things so much easier and gave us time to hang out with our friends while they packed up.

I was down in the freshman floor, helping Kara pack up. Marcos would be coming down with a truck to help her take all her stuff home for the summer break. I wasn’t sure how I felt about seeing him again, after everything since Thanksgiving. I never called him or his friends after our night together. Kara had assured me he was fine with it, but I still felt bad.

I hadn’t wanted to cause any drama between me and Kara, nor did I want to cause any drama between Kara and her brother. Truth of the matter was, I just didn’t have the time for a relationship right now, not with how packed my schedule was. I barely even had time for my friends.

There was a knock on the dorm door, startling Kara and I out of our conversation of summer plans while we packed. I continued packing Kara’s books, while she opened the door. “Hey,” Marcos’s deep voice said.

I looked over my shoulder to find not only Marcos but also Jason and Nico standing behind him in the doorway. My heart leapt in my chest as I forced a smile to my lips and stood up to greet them properly. “Hey guys.”

Marcos smiled easily at me as he moved into the room. He hugged his sister, before he moved on and hugged me warmly. “Hey, Maya.”

“Hey, Marcos.” I savored his hug, loving every moment of being back in his arms. Glancing over Marcos’s shoulder, I found Jason watching me with an eyebrow raised, his gray eyes giving nothing else away.
