Story: Black Curtain
He let out a heavier sound.
I felt it all the way down to my feet.
He shifted his weight, and immediately began to accommodate my request.
I let out a low sound, pulling up my knees and leaning deeper into the cabinet so I was halfway lying down. It changed the angle enough that I felt a hard flush of pain off Black.
He yanked me closer to him, going so far into me I let out a weak moan.
Realizing he’d given in, or maybe just couldn’t hold it anymore, I gripped his arms, holding still while he got his cock in the right place.
When he extended, both of us cried out.
“Goddamn it,” he gasped.
I felt him holding back immediately, trying not to come…
I fought to distract myself, maybe to distract him.
Just looking at his face brought up so much pain, I could barely stand it. His long jaw clenched. His cheekbones looked more prominent in the strange light of the room. His perfect mouth grew harder as he fought to hold back an orgasm.
I looked at his chest, at the strangely symmetrical beauty of it, the unmarred seer’s skin, the lines of muscle as he held himself back.
I stared up at the ceiling and remembered where we were.
God, what were we doing here?
It was our wedding.
It hit me again that it wasn’t even my uncle doing this to us now.
We were finally almost finished with the thing with Charles. He was in a human high-security prison somewhere. His crazy followers were gone. Black and I supposedly got our lives back. Yet here we were again, dealing withanotherpsychopath who wouldn’t leave us alone. After everything that happened at our first wedding with the dragons, then everything in Saratoga with Black and I nearly dying again, and me in the hospital for weeks…
Now we had to deal with this shit, too.
I was so done. I was so done with all of it.
I was beginning to wonder if maybe we should have stayed on that other dimension with Allie and Revik. Maybe we should have convinced Dragon and Tortoise to drop us off there before they took off with Charles’ crazy followers.
I refocused on Black’s gold irises. I realized they were faintly glowing.
Pain rippled through me.
I gripped his arms tighter…
…and let out a full-throated scream.

The others must have been closer than I realized.
I hadn’t even finished screaming when they found us.
They exploded into the room, making so much noise I let out another shriek, and Black’s arms enveloped me. He looked over his shoulder, as if unsure if he was protecting me from our friends, or what made me scream in the first place, or both.
Roughly in that same minute, I realized Black was still inside me.
I wrapped one arm around his neck, breathing hard.
