“No problem.”He pressed a kiss to her forehead before drawing the doona around her.I love you.
“Need to ring Antonio.”
“I’ll call Antonio.”
He tucked her in and pulled the drapes closed before heading downstairs. She was where she was meant to be, and he didn’t know how soon before he had to send her away.
CHAPTER ELEVEN
Even after six weekstogether, and three weeks since Lily’s birth, these moments, when Anna was curled into Hunter’s side, after they’d made love, and when contentment seeped into her soul, were amongst her favourites of the day.Coming home to Hunter was as natural as breathing.
“I had an idea.”
“You’re always having ideas.”He kissed the top of her head.
“Antonio has been hinting that he’d like to see how the centre is coming along.”Anna traced circles around Hunter’s bare nipple with her index finger.“Especially since I brought some of our mums through.”
“Makes sense.”He caught her wrist.“I won’t be able to keep talking, much less thinking, if you keep doing that.”
“I’ll agree to a temporary pause.”
Anna propped herself up.She wanted to see his face for her next suggestion.Family mattered to Hunter.Witness his call to Niall from the hospital, his cosseting of Anna after Lily was born.Yet, he’d only introduced her to one member of his family—Maha.Casildo didn’t count because Anna already knew him.Maybe Donna counted, but Hunter’s caution when Anna had thrown him into the middle of her extended family was a niggle.
“Tuesday. How about Tuesday?I’ll ask him and Maha.”
“Why Maha?”
“Because he’s entrusting his staff’s children to Maha as director at the centre.”And Anna itched to get to know Maha better, to see how Maha interacted with Hunter.
“Aren’t you delegated to be liaison?”Not a no, but a hesitation, and Anna had hoped they’d moved past awkward pauses.
“Antonio’s interested.”
“I’ll have to check with Maha.See what her schedule’s like.”A frown had formed between his brows.“Does Antonio know anything about childcare?”
Anna smoothed his furrowed brow with her fingers.“His kids are teenagers now, but he was widowed when they were very young. He’s familiar with juggling kids, work, life and grief, which is why he was so easy to convince on this.”
