“Hunter,” Anna half-sobbed his name as her body contracted around his.
His thrusts grew faster, more possessive.
“Yes.”He roared, his body convulsing, before he collapsed, gathering her into his arms.“Let me hold you.”
Yes, please.Forever.
But he wasn’t ready to hear that.
CHAPTER EIGHT
The sound of runningwater coming from the bathroom stopped.Anna had passed on Hunter’s offer to join him in the shower on the grounds that while the offer was tempting, he had to be at a game in an hour.Giggles, cuddles, lovemaking until the early hours—he’d woken her; she’d woken him.The last time she’d been this happy was when Kate announced she and Liam were getting married.
Stop it!she chastised herself. One night does not a summer make.Or was that one swallow?
After sliding two cheese and tomato sandwiches into her griddle iron, she turned on the kettle and coffee maker.
“Niall’s shirt fits okay,” he announced as he entered the kitchen, tugging her brother-in-law’s long-sleeved T over his head, an appealing contrast to his suit trousers.“I’ll wash it and get it back to you.”He stopped beside her and tipped up her chin to kiss her.“Breakfast tastes good.”
“We’ve already had breakfast. This is lunch because you’ve got an appointment.”
“Yeah.Gareth’s game.I don’t watch them all, but this is the final.I’d invite you—"
“No.”She pressed two fingers to his lips.“Your focus should be entirely on him on such a special day.”
“Can’t guarantee that.”He grinned, watching her pour boiling water into a pot.“Tea?”
“I limit my chocolate consumption to after five o’clock unless it’s an emergency.”
“Thanks for the warning.”
“I’ve got coffee for you.”
“Can I see you tonight?”he asked.
“I’d like that.”She’d been holding her breath waiting for the invitation.Silly, when she could have issued her own.
