Story: Accidental Vampire
Before the words were even out of my mouth, Lachlan was on his feet, holding Aurora up by the neck, straight up in the air. She was gurgling, her tiny feet scraping to get a firm hold on the floor.
“Put her the fuck down.” I had put myself between them, grabbed his wrist that was holding her neck. They both ignored me.
“When I what?” I demanded. I tried prying his fingers off her. Sure, strangle her, but I wanted answers first.
Aurora caught my eye and and I caught her smirk, it curled up her lips only to be quickly wiped away into picture perfect pain and suffering. All for Lachlan’s eyes, naturally. I almost didn’t believe I saw it.
I pushed Lachlan with both hands to get his attention. He didn’t move an inch. Aurora kicked her legs uselessly.
“I did what? What did I do? And fucking put her down. What is wrong with you two? You hurt her like it’s nothing and she likes it.” I didn’t know why I was wasting energy on Aurora. She always had a sparkle in her eye, like she wished me dead, and couldn’t wait to do it herself. They paused and look at me like I was the insane one.
He continued, “… that we are not discussing what happened before we came here.”
“Fuck that. Tell me. I killed someone?” I screamed. His expression was so neutral. “I killed another person? You made me a killer!” He dropped Aurora and grabbed me to cover my mouth..
“Aurora.” Lachlan nodded his head towards the door. She was gone in an eye blink and almost immediately some terrible noise that some would call music cranked so loud it shook the industrial light fixtures.
He pushed me up against the wall, using his body to pin me. He whispered right into my ear, rage coloring every syllable. No, it wasn’t rage, not exactly. The emotion rolling from him was harder to read than that.
“I told you. The one thing that cannot happen is for people to find out who made you.”
I bit his finger with all the strength I had. I swear I could feel my fang hit bone. He cursed, but he didn’t let go, neither did I. His blood was trickling into my mouth, making concentrating hard. Oh god, he tasted so good. I could feel the swallow of his blood racing through my body. I clenched my jaw, biting harder. I would not get turned on. I would not get hungry, thirsty, whatever. I swallowed again, fighting not to let shivers of pleasure rack my body.
“You do not understand the amount of danger we are in.” he hissed, ignoring my bite completely. “Yes, you killed Omar. Omar was trying to kill you. It was blood lust.”
“Let me go,” I said, spitting out his finger. I was woozy from anger and the unsatisfying lick of blood.
Our faces were an inch apart. We had no issue hearing each other with the music pounding around us.
“You made me a killer.” I bit my own tongue to keep from licking my lips for the last drops of Lachlan’s blood.
“Omar doesn’t matter. It happens.” He licked his own lips, his eyes focused on my mouth.
“No, it doesn’t happen. It doesn’t happen to me.”
He gave me a little hard shove into the wall and then let me go to pace around.
It was my turn. I snagged him by the shirt and pushed him into the wall hard enough to rattle his fangs. I put my hand over his mouth. See how you like it, asshole.
“You killed me and made me a killer.”
He bit me back. But this was different. His fangs slid in slow and careful, right into the fleshy part of my finger. And then he pulled on my blood, like pulling pure sensation out of my core, dragging it across every nerve ending. He closed his eyes in bliss, like I was the best thing he had ever tasted. I shuddered and locked my knees so I wouldn’t fall over. It was too much, too many confusing sensations, emotions barreling through me all at once.
He drew my hand away from his mouth, his tongue trailing from my palm to my fingertip. A dead ass sexy smile spread across his lips, and I watched him bite his lower lip in slow motion. Blood welled, inviting me.
I crushed my lips to his, desperate for him, his taste, to follow the sensations he pulled out of me. The blood he pulled out of me. His fangs lanced both our tongues, our blood adding to the desperation. My face flushed at how right this felt, being in his arms, his tongue in my mouth. His blood in me. He tasted incredible, together, with our blood mixing…
Blood.
Blood lust.
This was blood lust. I pushed away from him, freaked at all the alien sensations tearing through my body. It was like my body wasn’t even my own now, he took even that from me.
I didn’t make it two steps away. He snatched me back to him, one hand around my throat, the other at my waist. Not threatening, not aggressive, just holding me and stroking the vein at my neck. It made me weak.
“This isn’t blood lust. This is just lust.” His voice was dark, full of promises I couldn’t bear.
I pushed him away and broke from his hold, staggering back until I ran into the dresser next to the bed. The lamp crashed over and his watch rolled off the top, pulling the little silver dagger along with it. Good. I hope it broke. He was right, and I would not admit it to him. There was no thirst, no cramping. I just wanted to fuck him. I should hate him. I should want him dead. I should want to be as far from him as possible. I shook myself back to reality, gripping the edge of the dresser like a life preserver.
