She gave me the side eye. “I already mastered this chapter years ago. I don’t need remedial coursework.”
Ro cackled so loudly half the room looked back at us. “Cadence is over here auditing the class like it’s continuing education credits. Somebody get her another glass before she gradesus.”
Even Star’s calm professional mask cracked into a smile. Then, she returned to teacher mode. “Angle matters. Your neck has a range; use it. Don’t shove straight back. Tilt. Breathe. Your hand does half the job. You’re never alone in this.”
Ro leaned my way. “So what’s been going on with you and your naughty little boy downstairs?”
Cadence watched me too. “Hopefully, you’ve set clear boundaries.”
Wow. How much should I say?
The champagne had loosened something in my chest that had been wound tight since this morning. Maybe it was the dildos. Maybe it was watching women choke and laugh and reclaim their pleasure without shame. Maybe it was sitting between two women who loved me enough to ask the hard questions.
I opened my mouth, the champagne making me brave enough to finally tell them everything—about Dominic and all he had done, about Scott showing up with court papers, about how Iwoke up this morning wanting to set my own house on fire just to watch Scott burn.
“So. . .” I cleared my throat. “The night before last, he stormed into my shower, took my rose, and made me cum so. . .I have not been clear on boundaries just yet.”
Ro shrieked.
Cadence blushed.
And I went into several whispers catching them up on everything. I could tell they loved every bit especially the parts of Dominic cuddling with me that night and helping out with the kids. But then we got to the hard part. . .Scott’s appearance last night and Ro looked like she was about to kill someone with her dildo.
She hissed, “You are not going to let that snake move back in there and poison your joy. I think Dominic and you should get together and beat his ass. Then, bury the body in the back yard. Hell you can usemyback yard. I haven’t closed on the house just yet.”
Cadence put her glass down. “I can’t believe Scott would stoop so low with a forced cohabitation court order.”
Ro set her dildo down. “Bitch ass showed up with a suitcase. He makes me so sick. Maybe, I should help Dominic and you kick his ass.”
“Violence will not help anything, but Teyonah, you must document everything.” Cadence frowned. “Did you already deposit the check Dominic gave you?”
“Yes. This morning, I was about to start contacting many of the divorce lawyers that I know, but one top guy called me before I could even pick up the phone.”
Cadence blinked. “Why would a top lawyer call you out of the blue?”
Ro sucked her teeth. “It better not be Scott playing more games. He’s a fucking narcissist.”
“No.” I shook my head. “This lawyer is apparently a part of a firm that works with Dominic’s family. That was all he could say.”
Cadence blinked again. “So. . .Dominic had this top lawyer call you?”
“Yes. And from the way the lawyer was talking, he thinks he can get Scott out of the house in less than seven days. I’m not sure. Scott knows the judge and he’s a sneaky bastard. Also, this new lawyer won’t tell me how much he will be charging. I know that bill is going to give me a heart attack.”
“He might not be telling you how much he is charging because Dominic is taking care of it.” Cadence smiled. “It’s so hard to not love Dominic. Everything inside me says for you to not do anything with him, but then. . .I like the way he treats you.”
“And let’s not forget that Dominic has been more of a man than Scott could ever be,” Ro added. “Age ain’t nothing but a number.”
I let out a long breath. “I’m stressed but. . .I feel like it will all work out. . .eventually.”
“It will.” Ro hugged me.
Cadence patted my back. “You just have to keep it cool around Scott and let Dominic’s lawyer do his magic.”
We returned to class.
Star had moved around the room answering questions and adjusting women’s angles.
Many minutes later, we finished the drills.
