I decided to go full stem, and plucked it from the base.
Perfect.
“Hey! What the hell are you doing?”
Ah, fuck.
I turned and held the flower behind my back. “Hi, Mrs. Fulton, how are you on this beautiful muggy morning?”
“Dakota Voss, I watched you pick that flower with my own eyes! Do you know how long I’ve spent growing those? Do you? And why on earth are you coming here and stealing my flowers?”
Mrs. Fulton stomped closer with each angry word, the beads of her glasses holder swaying aggressively.
I rubbed the back of my neck and tried to look appropriately apologetic. “I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I wasn’t allowed to pick them.” That wasn’t a total lie; nowhere did it say you couldn’tpick the flowers. I mean, it was common sense, yes, and common decency, but I’d never claimed to have either.
Mrs. Fulton stopped in front of me and held out her hand. “Give it to me. That belongs to our department, young man.”
I didn’t want to give it to her. “Look, how about this—I’ll go out and buy you five new ones to replace this single flower I took. That’s a good deal, right? And I promise to never take another one.”
“Why are you stealing my flowers anyway?”
“For love, Mrs. Fulton.”
“Well it’s certainly not for respect.” She rolled her eyes and sighed, then jerked her chin toward the door. “Get out of here and don’t ever let me catch you butchering my plants again.”
I grinned and placed my palm over my heart. “I promise I’ll never take another flower from here, thank you Mrs. Fulton. You’re a saint.”
She shook her head and shooed me away, so I scurried away before she could change her mind.
I left the greenhouse and headed back to the dorms.
I had a plan.
I’d carefully constructed every second of it in my mind.
Reese was in class right now, so I had time to get back to the dorm and make it happen.
As soon as I got back, I grabbed the jockstrap from my drawer, changed into it in the bathroom, made sure I looked perfect for him—fuck, I was covered in his marks, of course I looked perfect—then lay on my bed with the tiger lily and waited.
I felt kind of stupid, but not actually, because everything I did with Reese was right.
Which was why I wanted him to fuck me how he always wanted to but didn’t.
I knew he’d been holding himself back for my sake, and I didn’t want him to feel like he needed to. Yes, I loved it slow andgentle, but I wouldn’t dislike it if he went faster. In fact, I knew I’d love it.
I loved everything he did.
I’d get to see him lose control, I’d get to break him down like he did me.
I’d get to feel what it was like to be completely and utterly claimed by the person I loved most in the world.
Thinking about him was getting me hard, and I had just curved my palm over my thickening dick when the door burst open.
Reese froze as he took me in, and those gorgeous hazel eyes drifting down my body as his cheeks darkened to a deep rose got me all the way there.
“Fuck,” he whispered, staring at the neon pink jockstrap that was barely containing my erection.
He threw his backpack toward his bed without looking away from me, stepped inside the room, and slammed the door shut behind him.
