Allseeah — An ancient being who existed when Elysian was created. Known as Destiny, he has powers to alter fate, protecting the balance of the future. Kerimkhar’s twin brother who denied Magnelis of his ask to change his fate, then imprisoned Kerimkhar when he agreed to aid the High King.
Alynthia — A rumored mountain city in Zyllyryon, unmarked on maps and protected by ancient wards.
Airatheldra — Garrik’s home. A world existing outside the bounds of time and created by his mother, High Queen Airathel.
Celestials — All-powerful beings given reign and rule over the day and night by Maker of the Skies.
Darkness — The Celestial sovereign ruler of night. Sun and Moon’s brother.
Dawn — A magical ability to transport objects or bodies between time and space.
Dawnspace — The void something travels through when dawning. Usually seen as darkness, though Garrik illusions it as pocket worlds to travel through.
Death mark — A gift to some, a curse to others, this magically inked tattoo is found on the upper left arm of a faerie given powers. The mark is designed to display what their magical ability is.
Dragons Legion — The High Prince of Elysian’s army dressed in battle-black scaled leather armor. Rumored to be executioners for High King Magnelis, but instead, travel the realm building their ranks and saving Mystics to overthrow the High King.
Earned — Golden beads on a Guardian’s head. Also known as their honor. If a Guardian loses all of their Earned, they are excommunicated and found unworthy of their sacred calling. Earned are usually wagered in sparring sessions, deals between other Guardians, and lost in battle.
Elysian — The realm our main characters called home, created by the second Celestial sovereign ruler of night, Moon.
Firekeeper — The deity reigning over the pits of hell.
Foutress — A mountain guarded by wards where seasons change unexpectedly and houses an ancient being’s home.
Galdheir — The capital of Elysian, where High King Magnelis resides.
Gamroara — A poisonous beast made of a skeletal body and membranous wings, completely blind but impeccable eyesight. Alora encountered one escaping camp and Aiden came to her aid, being stabbed by the creature’s tail before Garrik destroyed it.
Guardian — A holy race of High Fae warriors, given a sacred duty from Maker of the Skies and their leaders to protect lords, kings, cities, and towns.
Bound by honor, if they turn from their duties and laws, they, their families, and future generations are excommunicated and damned from Glory.
They are not permitted to marry outside their race.
Seven houses created the Guardians, and now, there are 182 bloodlines.
Thalon is from House Seven, his bloodline is N: Thalon, Guardian of House of the Seventh N.
Once married, the female adds her husband’s bloodline letter to the end of her name.
Thalon’s wife was Everly, Guardian of House of the Fourth Y.
Once married, she became Everlyn, Guardian of House Seventh of the N.
Ghost — Garrik’s horse. Sometimes seen with a shimmer on her forehead and is never to be bound or wearing tack when she is not being ridden.
High Guard — King Ladomyr of Kadamar’s elite soldiers.
High Fae — A race of faerie. Humanoid in appearance with pointed ears.
Kerimkhar — An ancient being who existed when Elysian was created. Known as Mercy, he once had powers to change fates, giving gifts of mercy to the powerless, but is now imprisoned and uses his gifts for dark deals that leaves his victims suffering in life and death.
Lord’s Markets — Physical buildings in Kadamar where enslaved/ imprisoned/ stolen faeries are sold.
Made — A faerie that was changed into something other than their born form. For example, Garrik was Made into the Savage Prince by being magic-washed. Males in Kadamar were Made into new physical forms by Ladomyr.
Maker of the Skies — The Almighty deity reigning over the Stars Eternal and creator of all things.
Magic-washing — The act of brain-washing by magic where a washer erases all that you are, your will, your desires, your morals, turning you into a shell to be used to the bidding of your maker or worse, the High King. Magic-washing takes the color from your eyes, leaving them gray.
Marked One — Fugitives, born with magic.
Moon — A Celestial sovereign ruler of night. Darkness and Sun’s brother.
Mystic — Also known as Marked One, this is the positive term that Garrik and his legion uses, instead.
Pearlsea — A begonia-type flower that looks like the waves of the sea, pearlescent in color.
Ravens — High King Magnelis’s elite army.
Reike — A creature appearing like a wolf, but when injured grows three times its size.
Shadow Order — The High Prince’s elite Generals.
Smokeshadows — A magical power of Darkness that whorls around Garrik in the form of tendrils, wisps, and fog.
Snakemares — An evil magical power of darkness that tendril in the form of snakes.
Starfire — A magical power formed of white flames and sparks/ stars. Rumored to be the magic that aided in the creation of Elysian.
Stars Eternal — Heaven, where the Celestials live. Also known as Mount Caelum.
Storm — Alora’s horse.
Soulstryker — An obsidian-colored serrated dagger that houses three gemstones: Life, Blood, Death. The blade, when used, takes the soul of the wielder and the intended, to which they can never be resurrected.
Sun — The Celestial sovereign ruler of day. Darkness and Moon’s brother.
Torgal — Jade’s home realm, a land of male dragon shifters where females are used for entertainment in barbaric fight-to-the-last games.
The Wall — Dellisaerin’s wall of ice that borders the entire kingdom and is protected by magic so that no one can fly over it.
Wingborne — A winged, flying battalion of the Dragon’s Legion.
Youngling / faeling — Faerie/ High Fae children under the age of one hundred.
