“I can’t believe you’re getting married, Kiley!”
I grinned at Lily, who was sitting across from me at the coffee table of our apartment. Soon, it wouldn’t be. In just a few short months, I would be Mrs. Vale and would be moving in with Simon permanently.
“I know!” I cried in amazement. “I’m really going to miss living with you, though, Lil.”
Lily smiled and then glared at me playfully. “Don’t think that just because Dr. Vale is gonna be your husband that I’m going to put up with him taking you away from me. I’m requiring monthly sleepovers after you move out.”
I giggled. “Deal,” I said.
The two of us were sitting cross legged at our coffee table, flipping through wedding magazines.
Lily was taking her role as maid of honor very seriously, insisting on being part of all of the details and decisions, despite the fact that we had a full crew of professional wedding planners and coordinators.
“Try to relax tonight,” I told her. “Remember, you’re not just my wedding planner. You’re my maid of honor and my best friend. You should be allowed to take it easy during my engagement party.”
Lily scoffed. “Not after you told me how Simon’s relatives are a bunch of rich snobs who might look down on you,” she said bitterly. “I have no issue spending the whole night fighting them off and making sure they are all nice to you.”
I winced at the reminder of what could be awaiting me at this party. “I appreciate that,” I told her. “But it’s really not necessary. I don’t care what they think of me. I love Simon, he loves me, and that’s all that matters.”
Lily narrowed her eyes. “You can’t fool me, Kiley,” she said. “You’re too kind to not care what those people think of you. And it’s only natural to want your future husband’s family to approve of you.”
I averted my gaze from Lily’s prying one, hating that she was right.
Simon was extremely successful and generationally wealthy, and many of his family members were as well.
I was terrified that they were going to disapprove of the fact that he was marrying a student and that all I was going to bring to our marriage was a bunch of student loans.
“Let’s talk about something else,” I suggested, grabbing a random magazine. I showed her the page I landed on. “What do you think of this cake?”
Lily put her hand over the page, lowering the magazine. She opened her mouth to most likely scold me for trying to change the subject but thankfully, I was saved by the doorbell ringing.
I jumped up to answer it, my heart thudding because I already knew who it was.
Simon was so tall that he almost completely filled the doorway with his big body. He bent to kiss me soundly in greeting. “Ready to go?” he asked.
Before I could answer, Lily stomped over and stepped between us.
She thrust a large garment bag into Simon’s hands.
“Make sure she has time to get dressed before the party,” she scolded, wagging a finger in my fiancé’s face.
She then shook her head in dismay. “I can’t believe you two are going on a date before the party.
Don’t complain to me when you’re dead on your feet by the end of the night. ”
“We’re just going for a walk at the beach, Lil,” I said, rolling my eyes. “It might be the only chance we get to spend alone together today.”
Lily rolled her eyes but waved us off with a grin. “Have fun,” she sang suggestively.
I didn’t bother explaining that that was not the kind of fun we were planning on having before the party.
“I’m sorry about Lily,” I told Simon as we drove away from the apartment, certain I wore an expression of chagrin on my face.
“You don’t have to apologize,” Simon assured me. “I like her a lot. I can tell she really cares about you.”
We chatted casually during the drive and while it was a gorgeous day and I was happy to be getting some alone time with Simon, I found my mood drifting south as nerves about the party twisted my gut.
“Why are we parking here?” I asked, trying in vain to keep the attitude out of my voice. “We’re going to have to walk a long way.”
Simon shot me a look but answered calmly. “It isn’t that far,” he said. “Besides, if we get much closer to the beach, we won’t be able to find a parking spot at all. It is tourist season you know.”
“Whatever,” I muttered, unbuckling my seatbelt impatiently.
“Wait just a second, young lady,” Simon said, putting a firm hand over mine. “I’m going to need you to calm down.”
My temper flared. “I didn’t do anything!”
Simon stared back at me calmly before undoing his seatbelt. “You have been high strung since I picked you up,” he said. “And now you’re starting to show me attitude. Thankfully, I have just the remedy for that.”
My jaw dropped as Simon exited the car and quickly came around to my side. He grabbed my arm and hauled me out before opening the back seat.
“Wait, no!” I hollered, pulling away as hard as I could, but he was just so much larger and stronger than me he easily got me into the back seat before climbing in after me and shutting the door.
“You’re not being punished,” he reassured me. “But I think a little maintenance is required before that little mouth of yours lands you in real trouble.”
He leaned back before gesturing for me to climb over his lap. I groaned before obeying, knowing that doing so quickly would lessen the spanking he undoubtedly had planned for me.
Simon wasted no time flipping the back of my thin cotton skirt up over my back and lowering my panties.
I inhaled sharply when the first swat landed, sending a shock wave of pain through me. Simon wasn’t messing around. This definitely wasn’t as hard as a punishment spanking, but the smacks were still sharp and heavy. The couple dozen or so that landed easily left my bottom heated and rosy.
I was panting by the time he rested his hand over my flaming cheeks, giving them a sympathetic rub. I moved to get up off of his lap but a hand to the small of my back stopped me.
“Ah-ah-ah,” he tutted. “Not yet, love. We still have one last thing to do.”
He leaned over me and opened the console compartment between the driver and passenger seats, pulling something out of it. I turned my head to look at him, freezing at the sight of the butt plug and lube he now held.
“Simon!” I whined. “You already spanked me!”
He ignored me and opened the bottle of lube, generously applying some to the tip of the plug.
“I’m well aware of that,” he said unsympathetically. “I am also aware of the fact that you need this right now to keep your mind focused on something other than the engagement party. And plus, I am planning on taking this bottom of yours before too long, so we need to keep up with your training.”
I moaned in embarrassment when Simon parted my cheeks and pressed the plug against my anus. I was somehow able to relax as he worked the bullet-shaped toy inside of me. It didn’t keep me from squeaking and crying out in discomfort. This was the biggest one he’s used yet.
Once the plug was fully seated, he patted my cheeks, causing me to clench around the foreign object.
“Good girl,” he said, stroking my warm mounds. “I have no doubt you’ll take my cock into your bottom beautifully. I think you’re almost ready.”
He helped me off his lap and kissed me gently. “Ready for our walk?”
I gave him a look. “How am I going to walk with this thing in me?” I demanded.
The jerk just chuckled and patted my buns again. “You’ll manage,” he said.
I had to bite my tongue to not deliver the smart remark that was right on the tip of it.
He was right, though. I did manage to walk along the beach with the plug fully seated up my ass.
It definitely wasn’t comfortable, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, not that I would ever admit that to Simon.
I also wasn’t going to tell him how submissive and loved I felt as I walked next to him while plugged, his strong, protective arm around my shoulders. Maybe I would tell him one day.
A few hours later, we were standing in front of Simon’s mother’s house.
“I think my mother deserves to know the whole truth of our relationship,” Simon had told me on the way over. “It’s only right. She’s really my only real family and I know she’ll understand. After all, she was kind of the catalyst of all this. Without her, we might not have ever met.”
I was grateful for Simon’s mother for that reason, but it still made nervous butterflies race around in my stomach to think about explaining the whole strange story to her.
In the end, there was nothing to be concerned about. As Simon predicted, his mother was ecstatic and not at all fazed that our relationship started out as a fake one.
“All that matters is that my only child has finally found someone to start a life with,” she said, her bright blue eyes misting. “Welcome to the family, Kiley.”
As soon as she heard the news of our actual engagement, she insisted on hosting the party at her grand mansion.
I stiffened as we approached the front door.
Simon bent to kiss my temple and took my hand. “Relax, love,” he said. “You’re walking like you still have a plug up your bottom.”
I glowered at him, blushing hotly. “I’m still sore from having to wear that during our walk,” I hissed at him. I was grateful that he took the plug out before we got to his mother’s house, but I would still be feeling the effects of it throughout the night.
“It’s going to be okay,” Simon assured me, stroking my back affectionately. “You look gorgeous and all that matters is that we love each other and are going to be married, alright?”
I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. Simon tugged me closer to his side before opening the door.
I nearly fell backwards when the couple hundred people in attendance turned to look at us before erupting in ear-splitting applause.
I was able to identify some of Simon’s relatives, having had him show me pictures of them beforehand so I would know who was who.
There were cousins and aunt and uncles strewn out among his work colleagues and former classmates from medical school.
The first to approach us was Simon’s mother, Fiona. She hugged Simon tightly.
“Congratulations, my sweet son,” she said.
“Hi, Mom. Thank you, and thank you for all this,’ Simon said, giving her a kiss on the cheek and gesturing at the festivities going on all around them.
I smiled at her when she looked my way. “It’s so lovely to see you again, Fiona,” I said politely. “Thank you so much for hosting this party for us.”
Fiona laughed before pulling me in for an equally warm hug. “None of that,” she cooed. “You’ll be my daughter soon enough. Get used to hugging me like it.”
And just like that, I relaxed. Even if the rest of the family didn’t approve of me, Simon’s mother clearly did.
The next hour or so was spent introducing me to various family members. I was relieved to discover I had met a lot of them at previous parties and events. It felt strange to realize they already knew we were engaged but just weren’t aware that it had been fake the last time we saw one another.
“So, what do you do, Kiley?” one of Simon’s aunts asked.
I felt heat creep up my neck. “I’m studying to be a veterinarian,” I replied.
“Kiley is top of her class,” Simon put in quickly. “I have no doubt she will be a remarkable vet.”
His aunt was not impressed. She scoffed. “You can’t possibly know that,” she scolded him before turning to me again. “Do you have any experience? Have any high-end clinics offered you a job yet?”
“I’ve been working as a veterinary technician and still have two years to go in my graduate degree program,” I said, trying and failing to keep my chin up.
Simon’s aunt hmmphed before stomping away, muttering as she went. It had been such a short interaction, but it caused my heart to splinter.
“I’ll take care of it,” Simon promised me, moving to go after his aunt.
My eyes widened and I grabbed his arm, pulling him back to me. I didn’t like how stiff he was, anger rolling off him in waves. “No, please don’t,” I hissed, tugging him harder so he was forced to look at me. “Just hold me. Please.”
Simon relaxed slightly but obliged, pulling me against his chest. “I’m so sorry,” he said. “She will answer for her cruel words and disgraceful manners, I promise you.”
I smiled up at him and was relieved and surprised to find the action was genuine. “I’m okay, Simon,” I said. “I admit that I was anxious since we started planning this party but now that I’m here, I know that you were right. All that matters is us.”
Simon turned to face me fully, one hand coming up to cup the side of my face. My eyelids fluttered shut automatically when his thumb stroked my cheekbone.
“I love you,” he murmured, and I felt his lips brush my forehead.
I wrapped my arms around him, pressing my face into his chest. “I love you too,” I said.
And that was all that mattered.
