Chapter
Eleven
R ian watched the rescued omegas mill about, cups of Coke or lemonade or beer in hand, the chatter rising and falling, the music just loud enough that folks could dance if they wanted.
They were having a party to celebrate getting all of the guys to safety, and tomorrow, some would go back to the safehouse, some would get on a bus to go back home to their smaller towns. One wanted to move on to LA…
Rian thought Eyre was a little sad, but he was also so proud.
Eyre met his eyes, and he got a warm smile. His mate was moving through the crowd, telling a few guys goodbye, so confident, so happy.
So well-loved. Eyre winked at him. And a touch sore.
Well, you should be. He had spanked that ass and then knotted it, and then he’d had Eyre again this morning.
Eyre chuckled, snorting at him.
“He looks good.” Quin wandered up, a glass of whiskey on the rocks in hand.
“I think so too. I’m glad John and Wybee are staying in town.” Eyre needed some friends to stick around.
Quin nodded. “I think so too. They’re good guys, and they’re smart. I’m going to put Wybee to work at the bar. He can barback for a while before he starts bartending. It’ll suit him.”
“You think so?” He looked at the bird shifter with the nose like a blade.
“Yeah. He’s smart. Kind of wicked. A little sarcastic. The customers will love him.”
I love you. He looked around, seeing his fox watching him from across the room. I can’t wait to have our house back.
I know. They had privacy in their suite, but he wanted to be able to chase Eyre all over the house. To love him over the kitchen table. To spank him on the pool table.
Be nice now. You’ll get me hard, and you’ll have to leave the party early. Eyre’s eyes glittered in the shadow.
Oh, the horror.
Quin whacked him. “It’s bad enough that Symon and Adrian do that, but now you and Eyre. And Cyrus and Isaac. I am in the minority.”
“Your turn is coming, bro.”
Quin’s eyes widened with horror. “Absolutely not.”
Symon joined them, chuckling. “The ones who protest most fall hardest.”
“Shut up. I’m going to play pool.” Quin all but ran away.
Symon clapped him on his back. “Nice party, man. The barbecue is rocking.”
“Says my once almost vegan brother.”
“Fuck that. I’m a wolf.”
He snorted, happy to have his brothers with him. “About time you said that. Now, if you will excuse me, I will take my mate upstairs and disappear.”
“Have fun.” Symon waved him off, and he moved to grab Eyre.
“Ready to head to our rooms?”
“I am.” Eyre took his hand. “I’ve said the goodbyes I need to. I want you.”
“I want you too, sweet.” He drew Eyre along with him, his blood heating as it always did when Eyre was with him. “Now and always.”
“Mated for life?” Eyre asked.
“And then some.” And he would be happy to prove it to his little fox.
Every day.
