The next morning.
Yuuji slowly opened his eyes, a ray of warm sunlight that managed to slip past the curtains shining upon his visage.
The brightness made him squint slightly, and as he tried to cover his eyes, he found himself unable to move.
It was then that he recalled and felt the heaviness on his body, arms, and legs.
He looked down and saw a head of prismatic white using his arm as a pillow, a head of platinum white head on his chest, and a head of gleaming black on his other arm.
'...So it wasn't a dream, huh?'
To be honest, Yuuji had thought of yesterday night's event as a dream or a delusion, brought upon his exhaustion from the mission.
After all, he didn't expect his cute little twin slimes to suddenly evolve and gain a human-form all of a sudden.
Now, he had three little girls that would be running around the house and who'd want to be by his side at all times.
Of course, it'd be fine if the twins would assume their necklace chain and jewel form while Est returned to her spiritual form. But it'd be much harder if they were to be in their human form outside their home.
Moreover, the twins seemed to favor their human form, so they might prefer to stay in this form more.
'Hm... Maybe they can enter the King's Treasury? Though, I'd need to fill it with things first so they can actually stay there...'
With its feature that allowed living beings to stay inside of it, the King's Treasury would be the perfect place for the twins to stay in their human form while still be by Yuuji's side at all times.
But currently, the King's Treasury was only filled with weapons and a few other items. He'd need to place some beds, mangas, tv, games, and other things they liked inside so they can actually stay inside it comfortably.
'Well, I can discuss this with them later. For now though...'
Yuuji tried moving his arms and body to wake them up.
It was a Tuesday, in other words, school day. He had to get up, wash up, and go have his breakfast before going to school with Yuna and Nina.
But instead of waking up... All they did was hug him tighter and stayed asleep.
"Alice... Aria... Est... Wake up. It's morning..."
"..."
There was no response. Only the faint sound of their breathing.
He looked down at the three, thinking of ways to wake them up, even if a bit forceful. But all his determination crumbled the moment he saw how adorable they were.
Their cute little cheeks squished against his chest, breathing softly as they slept ever so peacefully while nuzzling onto him.
Angels... He couldn't bear to disturb their sleep.
Just then, soft footsteps resounded from outside his door, and a knock came soon after.
The door opened before he could say anything, and his lovely twin step-sisters, still adorned in pajamas though having washed up, entered.
"Yuu-kun~ It's morning. Wake up- Eh?"
"What's wrong...? Yuuji, are you awake- Eh?"
Their eyes met, before Yuna and Nina's gaze slowly went down towards the figure of the three little girls sleeping on him.
There was a lull of silence... Before Yuuji began to speak.
"I'll explain... But can you wake them up first...?"
""...""
--------------------------------X--------------------------------
Alice, Aria, and Est finally woke up, though not fully.
They were all still hugging or leaning on Yuuji and rubbing their eyes, but at least, they're all seated on the bed with him.
"So... She's Alice-chan... And the black-haired one is Aria-chan...? The slimes?"
"Yes... They evolved and gained a human form last night..."
Yuuji nodded, his hands softly stroking the twins' head as they slowly came to it.
Yuna blinked and rubbed her eyes, wondering if she was still dreaming. While Nina massaged the bridge of her nose from below her glasses.
"I thought I've gotten used to the things you do..."
"Ahahaha, don't be like that, Nina-nee. Look, aren't they cute?"
Yuuji showed off Alice and Aria's sleepy face, still with their eyes closed and hugging Yuuji tightly. And the older twin sisters felt their heartstrings tightened.
"W-Well, they're cute. But that's beside the point."
Nina faked a cough and approached the bed to pick up Alice and Est.
"We'll help them get ready. You go and get ready for school as well."
Yuna also approached the bed in excitement and picked up Aria, holding her up with her arms and letting her wrap her arms around her neck and nuzzle to her neck.
"Uhn~ Breakfast is almost ready, so go and wash up, Yuu-kun~ We'll take care of these cuties!"
"Alright."
Yuuji quickly headed to the washroom, washing his face and brushing his teeth before returning to his room to change into his uniform. Once dressed, he made his way downstairs to the kitchen.
Upon entering, he was greeted by the sight of Mira setting the table for breakfast, while Aika sat nearby, sipping her coffee.
"Good morning, Mom, Aika-nee."
"Good morning, Yuuji-kun~"
"Good morning. Where's Yuna and Nina?"
"They're helping Est, Alice, and Aria get ready."
"Hm?"
The two women looked at Yuuji confused. But soon, all their questions were answered when they saw two new little girls going down the stairs along with Yuna, Nina, and Est.
"Ah~! Mira-okaasama~! Good morning~!"
"E-Eh?!"
Alice rushed down the stairs with stars in her eyes the moment she caught a glance of Mira, and jumped into Mira's embrace, burying her face in her generous bosom.
Meanwhile, Aria slowly walked down the stairs, and bowed to the two women on the table.
"Good morning, Mira-okaasama, Aika-oneesama..."
"G-Good morning..."
Mira and Aika both looked at Yuuji, who was seated with Est already claiming her place on his lap. Their eyes filled with obvious questions.
"Ahahaha... Let me explain..."
--------------------------------X--------------------------------
After explaining everything to Mira and Aika about the twin slimes who had evolved, the family had their breakfast with more festivity than normal.
Alice and Aria, who seemed to have awakened the maternal instincts within Aika and re-awakened Mira's maternal need to pamper little girls, were being spoiled and fed by all the girls, while Yuuji ate his breakfast quietly along with Est while watching them.
Soon after he was done, a message came to his phone.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Kiryuu Aika: "Darling~ Good morning~ Miss me~??"
Tsubakihara Yuuji: "Good morning, Aika. I miss you so much. Have you had breakfast?"
Kiryuu Aika: "I have~ I'm now on my way to school~"
Kiryuu Aika: "I wanted to tell you something, so I contacted you the moment I think you're awake!"
Tsubakihara Yuuji: "Oh? What is it?"
Kiryuu Aika: "I found a super powerful SSR that's perfect for you! Didn't you say you have a lot of points? This'll be perfect~!"
Kiryuu Aika: "Here it is!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[SSR] - [Aspect of True Light - Akashic Record of Divine Spirits]
One of many Aspects of True Light. A legacy only available to the Descendant of First Light.
Requirement:
Chosen as the Descendant of First LightPossesses the trait:Champion of First LightTrue Light
Master of the Akashic Records of Divine Spirits:
This Aspect of True Light grants the Descendant of First Light the authority to access the Akashic Record of Divine Spirits—a realm that exists beyond the constraints of the World and Time. With this power, the Descendant can summon Divine Spirits and Elementals from any era, past or future.
Divine Spirits and Elementals are categorized into five distinct classifications:
Heaven – Spirits and Elementals associated with gods, divinity, divine offspring, or incarnations of deities from legends.Earth – Spirits known as legendary heroes of the land, recognized through mythology and regional folklore.Human – Spirits of individuals acknowledged by humanity as great figures who contributed to civilization. These include deified heroes worshiped after death, as well as those who possessed truly superhuman qualities in life.Star – Spirits who belong to none of the previous categories but embody the hope of mankind and serve as symbols of overcoming adversity. This classification is reserved for those who marked significant turning points in human history and left behind an enduring legacy of hope.Beast – The counterpart to the all-powerful Star, these entities represent the Evils of Man and embody the Seven Sins of Humanity. They are beings that encompass the entirety of mankind's darkness.
Bond Weaved by True Light:
All Divine Spirits summoned will be absolutely loyal to the Descendant of First Light and will regard all members of the group chat—or those recognized as allies by the Descendant—with friendliness.
The Descendant of First Light will provide the Divine Spirits with the necessary magic to sustain their existence and fulfill their duties.
Mark of True Light:
Ten Marks of True Light will manifest on the body of the Descendant of First Light — two just below the collarbone, one on each limb, and four on the back.
These marks can be used to amplify the strength of divine spirits, heal them, and allow the Descendant to grant them absolute commands.
Each mark will only affect one divine spirit upon use.
Once a mark is activated, it will reappear and become usable again after seven days.
Summon Divine Spirit:
The Descendant may specify which Divine Spirit to summon. The likelihood of summoning the exact chosen spirit depends on the Descendant's knowledge and understanding of the Divine Spirit, as well as their compatibility.
If no specific request is made, the summoned Divine Spirit will be the one most compatible with the Descendant.
Price: 30,000 GCP
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kiryuu Aika: "Hey hey~ Isn't this amazing~! It's literally made for you~!!!"
Kiryuu Aika: "With this, you can summon all the fantastical beauties~!!!"
Tsubakihara Yuuji: "This is..."
----------------------------------------------------------------
Everything seemed to slow down as the voices and laughter of his family around him slowly faded into silence when he began reading the description of the SSR.
The aspect of true light... It seemed to be an SSR exclusively made for the one "chosen" as the Descendant of First Light; the "race" of the "Yggdrasil character" Yuuji received as a support item for his mission in Overlord.
"This is... This surely isn't a coincidence...'
The "Descendant of First Light" race didn't exist within Yggdrasil, as Momonga had confirmed previously. However, Yuuji's character had it as a part of his race build.
At first, he thought it was simply a way for the group chat to grant him incredible powers that would suit him and help him in this mission, just like his Champion of First Light and True Light job class, as well as Aika and Lelouch's "character builds".
Their races and job classes were also special, in which they were extremely powerful and didn't exist in Yggdrasil.
However, it seemed like there was more to it.
Being chosen as the Descendant of First Light and possessing the traits of Champion of First Light and True Light trait were all requirements to be allowed access to use the Akashic Records of Divine Spirits, which was an aspect of true light.
Without it, he wouldn't even be able to purchase it from the group chat.
It was then that something seemed to click in his mind.
'Was this "First Light"... a being?'
He wasn't sure if the "First Light" was just a powerful entity, a divine being, a concept, or some sort of "will of the universe" powerful enough to be capable of "summoning" divine spirits of legends, myths, embodiment of concepts, entities of great power from the past, present, and even future. But it shouldn't be just some fictional thing the Group Chat used to name powerful items, skills, and traits.
It must exist... The SSR seemed to be derived from this "First Light". His race and job classes also seemed to stem from it.
Moreover, the powers he had from having the job class Champion of First Light and True Light... It didn't felt like just a simple skill or ability that was just created to fit the world of Overlord and yggdrasil.
It had always been at the back of his mind, but the sensation was all so faint that he almost forgot about it.
He had felt a strange connection to something whenever he used these powers. Something from beyond the skies and stars. Like a dream, just beyond grasp.
Something... intangible, faint, invisible, yet all encompassing and present.
And the most that he felt its presence was when he used his "wish" to heal Shalltear to make sure she was unaffected by the Downfall of Castle and Country World Item.
There had always been an uncertainty in his mind, but now... he was sure.
This "First Light" must truly exist... And for some reason, he had been chosen as its "descendant", allowing him to gain an "Aspect of the True Light" and access the Akashic Records of Divine Spirits.
