Gargoyle
H e sensed Tisiphone reaching out to him again, demanding to know where he was. Gargoyle wasn’t sure himself and mentally shrugged at her. He smirked inwardly as he felt her frustration build.
Gargoyle sent her reassuring thoughts, letting her know he was okay, that he was unharmed. After all, it’s quite difficult to hurt stone.
Tisi rolled her eyes at him, and Gargoyle almost broke and laughed.
The day was coming when he’d escape, and God help those who’d kept him hostage.
However, for now, he’d stay where he was, gathering information they didn’t even realise he was getting.
They thought he was deaf and ignorant in his stone form.
The stupid Hunters were so wrong. Gargoyle stared ahead of himself, as he had for many years. His exile would soon be over.
Manfred/Mummy
He’d cleaned the old people’s home of the abusive fools in there, so why was he drawn back to it?
Manfred peered through his portal at the care home, searching for a reason. Mary was absent, eating dinner downstairs with the others, while he’d snuck off to check his portal. There was something here.
He frowned as he saw a nurse he recognised heading down a hall carrying a box. Manfred followed her as she entered the room and smiled at the patient there.
“Ernest, I’m here.”
“You’re early, my sweet!” Ernest called.
“I don’t start for two hours, but I promised you a game or two, and then I’m visiting Mabel and playing with her,” the nurse said.
“Such a nice girl!”
“Nah, I’m mean and nasty and in charge of your jelly and custard bowls!” she teased.
Manfred moved away from her. She was of little interest. No, there was something about this nursing home that was bad. Manfred needed to discover what it was.
