Page 78 of Wade

When he opened his eyes again, there waslaughter and loving tenderness behind them. “You’re back. I thought I’d brokenyou.”

He chuckled. “In the best way possible.”

Wade let out a sigh and closed his eyes.“And I didn’t even fall off the bed this time.”

I had a feeling we were both going topretend he hadn’t said that later when he was firing on all cylinders again.“I’m glad you liked it.”

His lips quirked up in a faint smile and hetook a deep breath. As he let it out, he shifted and groaned. “Oh, that stillfeels so good.”

I chuckled and reached between his legs toease the toy out. His face scrunched up, but he didn’t seem to hurt, so I setit aside and wrapped my arms around him again. “I can see why you like thattoy.”

Wade was still smiling, but as he openedhis eyes, I could see a question in them. “You didn’t get to come.”

“I will later.” I leaned closer and gavehim a tender kiss. “I was serious about wearing you out. You’re going to get alittle break now, but I hope you don’t have any plans for tomorrow.”

His cheeks pinked slightly and he shiftedto roll into me. “That wasn’t just sexy talk?”

I made a low needy sound and kissed hisneck. “Oh no, I keep my promises, goody-goody.”

He laughed quietly, shaking his head. “Stopthat.”

I scoffed. “Oh no, it’s perfect.”

Wade peeked up at me. “Why?”

Pressing a light kiss to his lips, Icaressed his cheeks. “Because you are everything good in this world. There isso much love and light in you, everyone can see how good you are inside. Whenyou love, you do it so completely there’s no doubt in you. You’ve made me wantto be a better person since the first time I met you.”

As he smiled, he reached up and wrapped anarm around me, snuggling closer. “I loved your strength of character from thefirst time we met. I could see that you were one of those alphas whose innerlight outshone their physical looks.”

I ran my hand over his head, trying tofigure out what to say as he smiled and continued. “And yes, I could see howsexy you were, but that wasn’t what I noticed most about you. I could see whatan incredible man you were. You were funny and sweet and you were there when weneeded you the most, no matter how much it cost you.”

My eyes prickled and I had to swallow downthe lump in my throat before I spoke. “No matter how rocky the road was to gethere, I want you to know how much I love you and that I will never walk awayfrom you again. No matter what the road ahead looks like, we travel ittogether. Deal?”

His head jerked up and down as tears slidout of the corners of his eyes and onto the bed. “Deal.”

Pulling me close to him, he hugged metight. “I love you, Griffin.”

As his hold relaxed, I pulled back andlooked deep into his eyes. He smiled and gave me a quick peck. “I wasn’t readybefore, but now I am. I want a future with the sweetest, sexiest firefighter Iever met.”

Chuckling, I nodded and gave him anothertender kiss. “I don’t want either of us to ever forget Matthew. I know one daywe’ll all be together as fated mates, but until then, I’m going to spend everyday loving the most giving, caring, wonderfully wicked omega I’ve ever met.”

As I held him tight, we kissed again, gently sharing and loving. It wasn’t the image I’d always had in my head of howour love would look...but it was better.

It was real.

There would be laughter and love and enoughmoonshine to make a thousand wonderful memories, and hopefully one day therewould be the sounds of little feet and giggles filling our home. But no matterwhat road our life took, I knew we were both where we were meant to be.

Together.
