Page 21 of Vows Made in Silence
All colliding.
“I’ll buy you the time.”
I can’t move.
But I have to.
For Daniel.
Luca’s phone is already in his hand.
“Turk,” he growls. “Change of plan. It’s not going down at the warehouse. It’s here. The museum. They brought it to my front door. That was their mistake.”
I grip the fob tighter. My legs tremble.
Turk’s voice, low and lethal:
“Understood. I’ll bring fire.”
“Bring the war,” Luca says. “And make sure the cleanup crew’s on standby.”
On the other end, Turk is already moving—barking orders through clenched teeth.
“Gear up. Five-minute loadout. Target shift—museum sector. Downtown grid. We move heavy.”
Weapons clank.
Masks slide on.
Silencers click.
The street is about to become a graveyard.
“I want overwatch on every rooftop,” Turk snarls.
“Snipers in place. Two teams inside with Luca. Two on perimeter. We’re not here to negotiate—we’re here to erase.”
“Anyone who steps through that door doesn’t leave with a pulse.”
Boom.
The front door explodes inward—blown off its hinges.
Silence follows.
Then footsteps.
Heavy. Armed. Close.
Tears sting as I hear Luca whisper against my ear:
“I’ll come for you both.”
He cups my jaw. For the briefest moment, he’s the boy I once knew.
“Now go.”
Sophia grabs my arm.
