Page 137 of Veiled Amor
You could acquire things.
But you couldn’t buyamor.
And Capone was every inchheramor, even when it had been veiled from everyone.
She hung back when he climbed the steps, turning to his mom’s vault. The pair had been so close, and Lucia missed mama Mercado something fierce.
“I’ll make sure he’s happy, mama, you don’t have to worry about our Giancarlo anymore. I have him. We miss you.”
He was waiting outside, and his arms wrapped around her again.
“Let’s go.”
During breakfast and then the long drive to the airport, Lucia learned a lot about Capone and his friends. Preacher was the loud one who volunteered all the stories about her man. Reaper was the quiet one, but he laughed easily, and Texas was the biker who watched his language in front of her.
She thought they were pretty freaking fantastic.
“Guys. Guys,” she repeated over their rabble, “can I be in your gang too?”
As an amused collective, they replied, “It’s not a gang, it’s a club,” and Lucia burst out in joyful laughter.
She shouldn’t feel this free, this light-headed, but she did. Maybe it made her wicked or heartless, but she felt too much for the man holding her on his lap. He lifted his brow as if to ask if she were okay, and Lucia nodded, peppering his face with kisses like a persistent cocker spaniel.
She was more than okay.
Happy.
Home.
Tangible reasons forced them apart.
But she wondered if they needed to go through what they did to arrive at the place they were at now.
Maybe it made them different people, but Lucia liked who she was, and she adored the man Capone was.
She intended to love him hard.
She didn’t know she was grinding on his lap until his fingers dug into her hips, making her moan into his neck. “Mi amor, take it easy on me. We have a few miles yet until I can fuck you like you need it.”
Well, shit. That felt too long. She needed him now. Just a little of Capone would hold her over. She hovered her mouth against his raging vein and sucked until he grunted and pinched her ass.
Lucia shoved her fingers under his shirt until she found the ridges of his stomach and cuddled in. “I love you even though you make me wait.”
“I love you even though you torture me.”
“If you two are gonna get your freak on back there, don’t make me crash. My Ruby wants me home in one piece with all the Florida Taffy I’ve carted back for her.” Called out Preacher over the booming sounds of Romeo Santos.
She laughed, but the air evaporated from her lungs when the mouth at her ear whispered words only for her. “You saved me, Lucia.”
Her heart stopped. And restarted.
Their eyes locked, and she saw the love she felt coming back at her tenfold.
Ahh, god. The heart on this brooding biker, she idolized him.
And he was half right because they’d saved each other.
“You’re becoming so romantic,” she preened, stroking over his goatee, she pinched the ear gauge and that’s when her dirty biker smirked something sinful. “I am when I want your mouth around my dick.”
