A grin split Cash’s face. “It’s not only the Royal Sirens this realm fears, love. Even powerful Fae like them have contenders. I wasn’t called the Monster of the Realm for nothing. Let’s just say I figured it out after a little…hmm, investigating.”

I didn’t like how he said investigating, and he mentioned that name again that sounded like nothing good, but I was more concerned about Jo to ask more about it.

“We need to find her,” I said, breathless again with his attractive face so close to mine. “We can’t leave her out—”

Cash cut me off with a hard kiss, and I didn’t fight it like I should’ve. It felt too damn good. Like he’d rolled a thousand kisses into one.

His tongue teased my mouth like he’d been doing it all my life, like he knew just how to make me melt. And I did. I pressed into his body and forgot everything and everyone. I met his all-consuming kiss with the same level of passion, nearly climbing into his arms to be closer.

I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t been eager to touch him like this again. Not after I decided to embrace whatever this was between us. Like? Love? Stupidity?

When he drew back slightly, I unintentionally gave chase, but he stayed frustratingly out of reach.

“And ruin what this unfortunate debacle has made possible? Just you and me? And at this time of the Fae season? I think not, love.” His laugh hit my mouth with both heat and promise.

“I’d exploit the end of the world if I thought it’d give me any amount of time alone with you. ”

I was walked backward until the back of my knees hit something solid.

“Acting too quickly will only ensure we go in with the least advantage. We mustn’t be hasty, yeah?” He murmured with another few kisses, pressing against me and taking full advantage of the moment. “Not with the challenges already facing us.”

My head was fuzzy and uncooperative. I wasn’t the snappy comeback artist I usually was, but I did manage to say, “That’s awfully convenient, asshole.”

“But the truth, surely. Your friend will be unconscious for a few hours, and I need to call on some favors before we move locations again.” I was pushed back until I realized I was laid out on something soft. “And it’ll be nearly impossible to now that the Season is upon us.”

The Season? What the fuck was he talking about?

Cash didn’t waste time crawling over me and sneaking his hand under my shirt.

A sharp gasp fled my mouth. My body was entirely too quick to betray me.

It melted under his touch the same way it had when he first kissed me.

Almost like he’d cast a spell on me. Almost as if some sort of lustful heat had come over me.

Wait a damn second…

“What the fuck is happening? Why am I—”

“So randy?” he finished with a cute snicker.

Parts of his face were covered in shadow before his features blurred and our lips met again.

His tongue toyed with mine for several long strokes, the sensations otherworldly and burrowing inside my nerves like erotic barbs.

“I fear the effect on the Fae in the Nether this time of the seasonal turn is…particularly potent.”

I already didn’t like what he was implying.

The sensation of his touch, of his lips moving against mine, of the itch to remove anything on my body in our way, was only making the heat spreading through me worse.

I was close to begging him to fuck it all and do whatever he wanted, when I was nearly confident I’d never been this damn eager.

At least that was what I kept telling myself.

“Explain,” I demanded breathlessly.

Cash peppered light brushes and teasing nips all the way down my neck, slipping his fingers under the wire of my bra. Everything he did electrified my skin. Brought to life nerves that didn’t have any business responding in these conditions.

“I’d much rather show you, but you couldn’t even begin to fathom how chuffed I am that your body recognizes me as a suitable partner for the Season.”

He could’ve been speaking another language because I didn’t understand a word he’d muttered into my neck. The heat between my hips had grown unbearable. The tension near combustion. The only thing that eased it was his touch.

“Cash,” I growled, arching into him as his slim waist fitted between my open legs. “You better explain before I go find that…Royal Siren without you.”

The Dark Fae cursed under his breath and drove a hand through his hair in agitation. From the way his muscles tensed, I wasn’t the only one in the midst of a battle with whatever this was. Though, I’d argue my fight was to stop and his was to wait for permission.

“The Fae have a period of sexual heat in this realm. It lasts a month or two by human time standards, but it only impacts those compatible with each other. A nuisance, I realize, but one we can satisfy for periods of time if we’re diligent.”

Diligent, he says…

My hips were moving on their own, rocking back and forth against his front, chasing that delicious friction my body was desperate to have. Cash was hard enough to be felt through his pleather pants, and unfortunately for me, obnoxiously large for how slim and pretty the dude was.

I ignored how good it felt to rub myself on him, how it was exactly what my body craved, and continued my weirdly timed interrogation.

My whole day had gone to shit. It was somehow fitting I’d be overcome by some weird Fae heat that only hit every seasonal turn . That seemed to be my fucking luck these days.

“Satisfy it?” I asked between stilted gasps. “What does that mean? And for how long?

Cash had stopped fighting. Not that I really thought he’d fought much in the first place. The asshole had been pretty quick to push me onto the bed the second he recognized what was happening.

He gripped the back of my neck and thrust against me, his hot puffs of air in my ear where his face was pressed.

“If we satisfy it now, we’ll have time to do what we must before the effects of it wear off,” he murmured against my lips, kissing me like it was only thin strings of patience holding him together.

“You might be a hybrid, love, but you’re still a Fae.

Unless you satisfy it, what you’re feeling will only get worse. ”

“Oh, fabulous,” I whispered sarcastically before my sass was abruptly cut off by a moan. “You’re saying we have to have sex?”

Groaning, Cash nodded, his hips crashing into mine with a bit more insistence.

“Or we’ll be like this for…” I trailed off and clung to his back.

“Until we do or the Season ends. It would be impossible to know at what point we’ve come in its duration, but my guess is that devil chose this time on purpose.

The others will be too distracted to pay much attention to anything else, and it’s likely she has defenses against it.

In that event, it’s more likely that the Season has only just begun. ”

“Fuck,” I growled, lifting my arms to drape around his neck. I sunk my hands into his platinum hair and grabbed handfuls. “What if Kate—”

He didn’t let me finish. He devoured my mouth and yanked my shirt all the way up. He was sucking my breast into his mouth before I could ask him what he was doing. His tongue and teeth teased the sensitive tip until I gave him the gasp he wanted.

“She won’t wake. I’ll make sure of it, my dove.”

The way he swirled his tongue and bit my nipple was enough to cut my thoughts short. It was getting harder and harder to think. I wasn’t a saint, but even I thought having sex under some sort of rabid heat with a guy who’d been an enemy only a short time ago was a bit much.

But…what if I let that be my excuse? Who could blame me? I’d been quick to kiss him. I obviously liked him more than I should. It wasn’t as if I was a virgin. I’d had plenty of sex, sometimes more than I arguably should.

If we were going to figure out a plan to get back home, then we couldn’t be dragged down by whatever the fuck this was, so satisfying it was the only choice I could make. With Cash, it wasn’t exactly a chore. He was beyond gorgeous and his touch felt so damn good…

I’d be lying if I said I hadn’t thought about it. I had. Plenty. Why not? When in Rome…or, you know, the Fae realm, right?

I moaned when I realized the sneaky asshole was already between my legs, my pants nowhere in sight. Even I had to admit that was impressive. His tongue traced wet paths down my slit, knowing exactly what the fuck he was doing.

Holy shit.

Maybe it was the Season, maybe it was the villain between my thighs, but I didn’t give a fuck anymore. I rode his tongue like I’d been made to do it.

My hand flew to his head as he grappled with my tense thighs and drove his tongue inside me, rubbing his thumb over my clit in sensuous circles. I fucking loved circles. My hips jerked up and down, driving him deeper inside me.

It almost felt too long to be human. It teased against spots I could’ve sworn were nowhere near where a normal tongue could reach. But I didn’t care how or why, only that he did.

“Fuck, love. You taste absolutely divine,” he murmured between spearing strokes of his tongue.

With a sharp inhale, I arched into his devilish torment. The Dark Fae was criminally good with his tongue. Every stroke was exactly what I needed. Everything he did scratched that deep itch that manifested out of nowhere.

The tension was already near its breaking point, but it was his persistent words of awe and worship that sent me over the edge. I came harder than I’d been prepared for. So hard something wet rushed out of me and coated his face.

The sweltering heat that consumed my body was abated for a brief moment, and the reality of what I’d just done came rushing back in.

“Shit,” I cursed, sitting up with Cash still between my thighs. “What the fuck am I doing?”

Purple eyes caught on mine before Cash’s face was at eye level and I was already settled on his lap.

“What’s natural to us Fae, love.” I’d barely been given time to process I was on his lap before he entered me, his pants now wherever mine had disappeared to.

“Just let me take care of you. Blame it on the Season, but right now, your body needs mine.”
