Then, with a playful smirk, he added, “Even though their father had more than enough provisions for them.”

I must have been blushing deeply because he lifted my chin to face him and asked, “What? Are you blushing because I mentioned my plan for our children? Did you think I was joking when I said I wanted mini versions of you?”

I shook my head side to side as my hand went down to my jeans pocket.

“I’ve got news,” I whispered as I showed him the pregnancy test.

“Is this…?”

“Pregnancy test result, yes.”

His blue eyes widened as he exclaimed, “You’re pregnant?! My wife is pregnant. Oh, I’m going to be a father.”

My laugh was swallowed in an ardent kiss, his joy pouring into each movement. I kissed him back with equal fervor, my fingers locating the hairs at the back of his neck.

“Thank you,” he muttered against my lips when we finally broke apart for much-needed oxygen.

“We both did it, baby,” I answered, grinning.

“Baby?” he repeated, his voice as soft as his smile.

I shrugged.

“I love it,” he revealed, kissing my nose. “You’re not allowed to stop calling me that.”

“If you say so.”

He dropped to his knees and kissed my stomach through the material of my dress.

“I can’t wait to meet you, little Yezhov,” he disclosed before getting up to kiss my lips.

Another kiss landed on my right cheek, then my left. I giggled as he kissed my nose again before moving to my forehead.

He took my hand, and we walked deeper into the garden, accompanied by the promise of a beautiful future—together.

I can’t imagine happiness feeling any fuller than this.
