The world ceased to exist. She floated amongst the stars, each one twinkling brighter than the last. Suspended in a state of pleasure—no…pure bliss. The stars could have exploded alongside her and she wouldn’t have cared. The only thing that mattered was the pleasure her mate gave her, but she wanted to give back. She wanted his experience, his bliss to equal hers.
She struck before she had time to rethink the decision. His blood coated her tongue as her fangs pricked his artery. Sweet and savory, just like the man who had busted down her defenses and stolen her heart.
Jason howled as his hot seed jetted into her. He rocked back and forth, pumping his hips with jerky motions. He called out her name, but she still flew high above, another climax slamming into her.
This time her body exploded. She felt like every limb had been ripped from her and reassembled as something—someone new. The old Mikah ceased to exist. The new Mikah felt stronger, more alive than ever before.
Something foreign had invaded her body. She felt it traveling through her, searching for something specific.
Her soul.
She imagined the something as a golden light that glowed bright. It expanded and grew deep inside of her before finding its destination and clicking into place. Mikah sucked in a deep breath, a sense of wonder and amazement filled her. For the first time in her life, she felt complete. Like she had finally found her missing piece.
“What made you come for me at the warehouse?” Jason asked after they had finally caught their breath.
Mikah rolled over to face her mate. The man she would spend the rest of her life with and smiled. “When I got to the diner and realized you hadn’t left a note for me…well it made me sad. It made me realize how happy you made me every day. Those little gifts—the notes to let me know that you were thinking about me…I missed it. I realized that I didn’t want to push you away anymore. I didn’t want to live my life without you.”
Jason traced a path over her face and down to her heart. “You are my life—my world. You’ll never have to make up lies to find happiness again. I promise to spend each day finding new ways to make you happy.”
She felt the truth in his words and knew her life would never be the same. And that alone brought a newfound freedom she’d never imagined.
The End
