Epilogue

Cam snuggled up next to Ethan, trying to catch her breath. Aftershocks of pleasure still rocked her body.

“Pinch me,” Ethan said.

“What? Why?” Confused by his statement, Cam propped her head up with her arm.

“Because this feels too good to be true. Like a fucking dream.”

“It’s real, baby. I promise.” Cam leaned in, her lips met his. She loved the heat from his mouth, the softness of his full lips.

It did feel like a dream—even to Cam. They had been through so much in the last twenty-four hours. A volley of varying emotions had torn through her body and mind, but they disappeared as the fear that she had of losing him passed.

With a sigh of contentment, she looked down on his handsome face, still flush from their lovemaking, she should have been relaxed lying next to him. Instead a fresh feeling of panic shot through her body, her heart raced and skipped a beat. She tried to breathe, but the oxygen felt trapped in her lungs.

He must have felt her panic through their mating connection.

“Are you okay?” Ethan sat up and looked around the room.

She rose to face him. As much as it terrified her, she had to tell him. It was now or never. “I—I’m pregnant.”

His eyes widened, but he didn’t say a word.

Her heart pounded, fear twisted in her stomach and mind. She had no idea if he wanted kids. It wasn’t like they’d had time to discuss the matter.

The suspense nearly flayed her alive. Unable to wait another second, she opened up her connection to him, needing to know what he thought, or how he felt about the idea of being a father. She gasped as a feeling of pure joy passed over her.

He pulled her into a tight hug. “Thank you. Thank the Gods. You’ve already given me so much more than I’d ever hoped for—just by being you. And now—now I get to be a daddy!”

His lips closed over hers as happy tears streamed down her face.

Ethan pulled back. “What’s the matter? Did I hurt you or the baby?”

“No.” She wiped at her eyes. “I’m just so fucking happy.”

“Me too, baby. Me too.”
