Page 95 of Trapped for Her Blood
The guards scramble out of the cave, abandoning her.
“Fine,” she backs into the entrance. “Seeing you fucked to death was just a bonus to my plan. A bit of fun.”
I push my palms forward, and she’s shoved back again, as if I made contact even though she’s twenty feet away from me.
Turning, she laughs. “You think you have won, little witch? You haven’t. You will be trapped in his dungeon forever.”
She disappears, and the fire inside me burns out.
I collapse, but Ryker catches me before I hit the ground, and the others gather.
“What just happened?” Ryker asks, his voice faint, far away. I’m slipping out of consciousness. So tired I can barely breathe.
An explosion rocks the ground, the sound filling my head and shaking the cave.
“Fuck,” Axe shouts. “They’re collapsing the tunnel.”
“Get her back!” Zuben shouts and Ryker carries me away from the cave’s entrance as huge boulders and rocks smash down, our only way out disappearing. Rocks rain from above too, and the ground is shaking so much I wonder if the entire cave will come down on us.
But the world and all this destruction seem so far away from me now. Even the men are out of reach.
The only thing that registers fully is that we’re trapped. Truly trapped.
When I wake, if I ever do, we’ll be sealed in this cave, closed off from any hope of escape.
More rocks fall, and the world goes black.
