“I don’t understand,” Kieren said.

“Understand what?”

“Doesn’t that hurt?”

Patrick nodded. “It’s supposed to. It’s what he wants. It might be something he needs. Not everyone is the same. Have you any experience with BDSM at all?”

“Only what I’ve watched and read about.”

Patrick chuckled. “It’s both the same and different from either of those. If it’s something you’ve never experienced and you look at it and go, ‘No way in hell,’ that’s a hard limit. If you think, ‘Hmm, maybe,’ that’s a soft limit. At least in my book. The things you go, ‘Hell, yeah,’ are good to experience straight away.” He took another drink. “But even soft and hard limits can change, but only by yourself. No one can change your mind for you.”

“Well, I think I would deem this a hard limit if I use that as my guide.”

“Good to know. Let’s continue.” He wanted to find something Kieren might like the look of. It seemed extreme pain was a no-go.

They arrived at the next stage, which had a swing. A woman was strapped into it with her legs in the air, and a man was using the momentum of the swing to pound into her. He glanced at Kieren. His eyebrows were raised, but no disgust or negative emotions showed on his face.

“It would be interesting to see if that’s as easy as it looks,” Kieren said with a chuckle. “I have a feeling it isn’t.”

“It’s not. If you get the momentum wrong, it’s annoying as hell when you have an orgasm barrelling down on you, and then it disappears because the swing knocks you out of rhythm.”

Kieren met his gaze, and something sparked between them. “Hell, yeah,” Kieren said.

Heat bloomed in Patrick’s gut, flowing outwards and upwards. He swallowed hard, then jumped when someone touched his shoulder.

“Sir, are you free for a session tonight?”

“Good evening, Cecily. I’m not sure if I’m going to—”

Kieren interrupted him. “You can. I don’t mind.”

Patrick weighed his options. It might be good for Kieren to see him in action. He’d be able to watch Kieren’s responses as much as the submissives and gauge his reactions to them.

“Are you sure?” Kieren nodded, and Patrick faced the sub. “Okay, Cecily. Is the spanking bench free?”

“Yes, sir.”

“Wait on the stage for me. I’ll be with you shortly.”

“Yes, sir.”

He focused back on Kieren. “Would you like to watch or wander around?”

“I’ll watch if you don’t mind?”

“Not at all.”

Patrick drifted towards the final stage in the room, nodding at John as they passed. Before he climbed onto the stage, he asked Kieren to stay on the floor. “This is where everyone watches.”

He stepped up to where Cecily waited with her head lowered and her hands clasped in front of her. He’d played with her before and knew exactly how she liked things. “Remove your clothes and lay on your stomach on the bench.”

“Yes, sir.”

While she did as he’d asked, he went to a set of shelves to the side of the stage and chose a cane. He turned back around, glancing at Kieren as he tapped the cane on his opposite hand. Then he wandered over to Cecily and focused solely on the submissive who had asked for his help.
