T iffany woke to a furnace. She rolled over, saw Timber lying beside her, apparently sound asleep, then collapsed back down.

He whispered, “Go back to sleep. You still have plenty of time.”

“I don’t think I can,” she muttered, with a yawn. “I’ve always been an early riser.”

“Doesn’t have to be this early, not today.”

She smiled, curled up in his arms, and nodded. “That’s a good point. Yet I’m still so tired, but I’m awake and not sure what to do about that.” She wiggled up against him and then wiggled again.

He grabbed her and muttered, “You’re heading for trouble.”

“I hope so,” she whispered in a teasing tone.

“Not exactly sure that should be on the agenda or that it would be that good for your head,” he stated hesitantly.

“I’m sure. I’ve waited long enough. And it’s just the two of us who matter here.” She reached up to kiss him. “Besides, if we don’t decide…”

“Oh my God,” Timber muttered, “I’m sure Dwight and Toby will be texting us next, deciding for us.”

She laughed and snuggled closer. He lowered his head and kissed her again and then again. She wiggled up against him, her lips twitching at his moan.

“Nice to know that all the important body parts work,” he muttered, and she laughed.

“I can see that for myself,” Tiffany noted, “or can feel it myself.”

He nodded, “Yeah,… you sure can. I’m surprised I’m even still in bed, considering all the thoughts that crossed my mind overnight.”

“Ha, you’re too honorable. No way you would have gone there at that time.”

He shrugged. “Yet I’ve been thinking about it for a long time, but I was a little busy at the center.”

“You were, indeed, and, according to the men, you were too busy. You were supposed to be looking out for your future too, a future with me.”

He smiled. “They’ll be the death of me, you know that.”

“Yeah, they sure will try,” she said, with a grin. “I kind of really like it though.”

“Yeah, me too,” he murmured. “I’m half scared to say that they’ll end up being major parts of my life, but it sure seems they will be. Guess I better get used to it.”

“You will.” Then she pulled up against his neck. “It’s been a long time,” she whispered.

“Me too,” he muttered, nibbling at her ear. “My last relationship was before the accident.”

“Ah, and of course, you’ve been worried about that, haven’t you?”

He lifted his head, looked down at her in all seriousness, and asked, “Wouldn’t you?”

She frowned, then nodded. “Yeah, I probably would. But the good news is, you don’t have to worry because I really understand about missing limbs.

If ever anybody would know, it would be me.

I deal with animals, amputations, and prosthetics all the time, so the fact that you are missing part of a leg is nothing to worry about. ”

“I’m glad to hear that because I was kind of hoping you would say that.”

“Absolutely,” she murmured, as she wiggled up against him. “Besides, everything else is in working order.”

He chuckled. “That is very true.” As he lowered his head, he offered, “Unless you want a demonstration, just to be sure.”

“Oh, I absolutely want a demonstration,” she declared. “A gal can’t be too sure, and I don’t really want to just take your word for it now.”

He lowered his gaze and smirked. “No, of course not. That would never work, would it?”

She burst out laughing, wrapped her arms around him, and pulled him closer.

“Anything that works for you, works for me,” she declared.

Then he lowered his head and kissed her, a kiss that blew her away, made her breath catch in the back of her throat, and curled her toes.

When he finally lifted his head, she murmured, “Wow, even if nothing else works, you can knock my socks off just with those kisses.”

He burst out laughing. “I’ll keep that in mind.”

“You do that,” she murmured, as she pulled his head down once again. “Believe me that I want more, so much more.”

And the next few hours she spent absolutely loving every inch of his body, and he reciprocated with so much joy that she returned the favor. And so it went. They took breaks, making coffee, taking it back to bed, then made breakfast sandwiches and took those back to bed too.

At one point she looked at the clock and groaned. “I don’t want to go to work.”

“I understand, but at least because we woke up so early we had lots of time together.”

“And I loved every minute of it,” she murmured. She leaned over and gave him a big kiss. “I absolutely loved it.”

“Good.… So maybe we can do that again someday?”

“I sure hope so.” She got up, had a quick shower, got dressed, and when she came back out of the bathroom, she noted, “I hate to say it but I’ll need a ride.”

“I know, and I have men at my place I need to deal with too.”

“Right,” she said, her eyes widening. “You’ve still got a ton of work to do, don’t you?”

“I do,” he confirmed, with a nod. “But that’s okay, as a whole lot of good things are happening in my life right now.”

She smiled, wrapped her arms around him, and sighed. “Mine too. So, can I come for dinner tonight?”

“I was really hoping you would,” he said, as he gave her a long kiss. “Maybe pack an overnight bag too. I’ll drive your vehicle in and pick you up.”

“Oh, I like the sound of that,” she murmured. “I can already see a lot of driving back and forth in my future, don’t you?”

“Hopefully that won’t be too onerous for you,” he said.

“No, absolutely not. Besides, I get to see you that way.”

And, within minutes, they were both in his vehicle, as he drove her to her clinic. He picked up her phone from the console. “Oh, good, I was wondering where this would be.”

“I completely forgot about it last night,” she admitted. “When I thought about it earlier, I figured that I may have lost it for good and would have to work on getting a replacement today.”

Timber shook his head. “No, I picked it up from the clinic last night but forgot to bring it in. Sorry.”

“No worries, I have a charger at work. It’s all good.”

When they got back to her clinic, he hopped out with her, checking the perimeter.

Then she unlocked the door so Timber could check out the whole clinic inside.

Everything seemed to be okay, and then, as he went to say goodbye, she wrapped her arms around him and gave him a whopper of a kiss. “I’ll see you tonight.”

He dropped his head down and gave her a kiss back and whispered, “Tonight.”

And, with that, he left, bypassing two of her assistants who had just arrived for work. They took one look at him, one look at her, and muttered, “Oh my God.”

Tiffany grinned and nodded. “Yeah, let’s just say it was a hell of a night.”

“We heard all kinds of rumors about chaos, but it wasn’t that kind of chaos.”

Tiffany laughed. “No, that kind of chaos was the good stuff. The rest?… I’ll tell you later,” she said. “We’ve got to get ready to open up.” She smiled and waved as he drove past them, then turned back to the ladies.

And, with that, she focused on her work and her long day of patients she had ahead of her, but it didn’t matter now because tonight she would have a long night ahead of her too, and that part would be fun.

Katie and Elizabeth were both grinning, and Tiffany suppressed her smile, adding, “Let’s get at it.”
