Page 32 of Thorns of Deceit
My name on her lips was like the most divine prayer and nothing had ever sounded so good. I thrust my tongue inside her tight, soaked pussy until her mouth parted on a silent gasp.
And she shattered with my name on her lips.
I didn’t stop, continuing to lap her up as she ground herself against my tongue.
And suddenly I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this woman was meant to be mine all along.
Considering I was always the first to pull back after the act, it should’ve been alarming that nothing in this world could’ve dragged me away. I watched in amazement as Raven’s eyes drooped and her body swayed.
“Tired?” I teased. “And here I thought I did all the work.”
I scooped her up and she yawned, pressing her cheek on my chest. “Right? I never knew orgasms made you so sleepy.”
I made my way to our room, where I deposited her gently on the bed and tucked her in. “Take a nap, and I’ll take a shower.”
She was already curling up when she mumbled, “I feel like I should really… reciprocate. Maybe you… can… teach me.”
My dick instantly responded, swelling painfully, but in the next breath, her soft snore filled the space and I shook my head at the absurdity of this situation. I was too old for this for fuck’s sake, yet I feared I’d gone too far to turn away from this woman. Or entertain another one.
Unlike my parents in their marriage, I wanted to give fidelity a real shot.
I showered quickly and put on a pair of jeans and a black T-shirt, then padded out of the bathroom, making sure I didn’t wake her.
Just as I exited the bedroom, my phone buzzed and I grabbed it, noting it was a video call.
“Is everything okay?” I said by way of greeting.
“I was about to ask you that, brother,” Tyran answered. “You’ve been off the radar for days.”
“Give him a break,” his twin chimed. “He just got married.”
I rolled my eyes. “You two are like meddling old ladies.”
“You’re right,” Kyran confirmed, grinning like an idiot. “How’s married life treating you?”
I scoffed. “Who’s really asking?”
They scowled. “We are, of course.”
“But so is Uncle,” Tyran added. “In fact, he’s been calling me every thirty minutes to ask.”
“I’m married, aren’t I?” I gritted. “What else does he want to know?”
Kyran snorted. “He wants all the sordid details. He even went as far as asking if you’d impregnated the girl.”
“I’ve never seen him like this,” Tyran said, shaking his head somberly. “Once he learned who her father is, it’s like he’s obsessed with the girl.”
“I still can’t believe it myself,” said Kyran. “Scottish mafia fucking royalty right in our city. In our fucking club. Duncan Lyons’sdaughter.”
Truthfully, I could hardly believe it myself. The Lyonses were gangsters from Glasgow who, over the past few decades, had expanded their operations into the Middle East and North America, putting a damper on some of our deals. Their organization ran everything from weapons shipments and protection rackets to high-end real estate laundering schemes. Now, with his daughter married into our circle, my uncle wanted a seat at his table, a share in the shipping routes, and a guarantee that his ports would stay open to our cargo.
Personally, I didn’t think it would be that simple. Duncan Lyons wasn’t the sharing kind, and the whole ordeal with his daughter and wife might backfire big-time. But Uncle Jack was too blind and greedy to see it.
Of course, the revelation of Raven’s connection to Duncan had been the turning point in the decision to bind her to the Callahan family. Had she not lied on her application at Velvet Desire and not been on our territory, this sort of oversight would’ve never been an issue and we likely wouldn’t have been in a situation where such drastic measures were necessary. As it was, our world operated on bloodlines and alliances, and Uncle was eager to use this newfound opportunity to his advantage.
“He’s not pleased that you demanded to do this your own way,” Tyran explained. “Every time I see him, he rambles on about how he’s still the head of the family.”
I snorted.
