Chapter Seven

We slept all night with her wrapped up in my arms. She was truly a remarkable woman. I knew I was being selfish by keeping her with me and it couldn't last forever, but I was going to enjoy it while I could.
When I got up, I tried to slide out without waking her up. That didn't work out for me.
“Leaving so early?” she asked.
“Yes. I will be gone most of the day. Order takeout or room service, just don’t leave the hotel.” I tried handing her my card, she just rolled her eyes at me and pointed at her purse.
I chuckled and put my hands up in surrender .
“ Have a good day. Should I expect you for dinner?” she asked.
“I'm not sure. Just depends on how busy it gets.” What it really depended on was how active the target was, but I couldn't tell her that. I could only hope I wasn't out all night.
“Well, I will order you some dinner and you can heat it up.” She pointed at the microwave sitting on the stand. I nodded, kissed her on her forehead, and left the room .

After taking a shower, I decided since I would be alone, I would do some work. Pulling my laptop out, I pulled up my email. The Senator had sent me several key points he needed researched before he used them in his speech.
If he was able to get this bill passed, there would be stiffer penalties for people who were in the gangs or cartels. It would mean not only automatic jail time, but automatic deportation for illegal immigrants that are part of these organizations.
The first time he pushed this bill, it was shot down by the senate house saying there were constitutional issues. This time we made a stronger argument and cited more sources.
After I worked long into the day, I realized it was getting late and decided to order food. I thought pizza was the safest bet since l didn't know what time he would be back home. A sudden case of loneliness took over. Thank fuck I had work to distract me all day. Even after the thorough fucking he’d given me last night, each movement I made causing delicious, painful reminders to zap through my body, I wanted more .

After verifying the address of my mark, I waited on the other side of the road for him to come home. I took my artillery bag to the backseat so I could go through it and load the weapons. I was at his house at seven in the morning and watched him leave for the day.
His workplace was a ten-minute drive from his home. He worked a nine to fiver. All this info was handed to me. Now it was my turn to do surveillance to see if he stuck to routines. This should be easy, but things didn't always go to plan. I'd been burnt before, so I knew how important good surveillance was.
I never did the hit on the first day. It was dangerous to pull it off any earlier than the fourth day. That's why a good reconnaissance mission was needed so no mistakes were made. The biggest thing you wanted to make sure of was no witnesses. Witnesses meant getting caught.
Getting caught was not an option. Not now with Cait waiting on me. So I would continue with the surveillance. One thing I needed to make sure of was that no one else lived in the home. If they did, then I needed to do a background check on them. If warranted, I could make the decision of disposing of them or doing the job with them not home .
Running my fingers through my hair, I realized I forgot to put my disguise on. I had a blonde wig I wore for such occasions. It was a short messy hair style. My hair was dark brown with a longer cut. That way if anyone thought they saw me, or could identify me as being near the scene, it would be a man with short blonde hair that was reported.
