Exhausted—but happy—I collapsed on top of him. “That was amazing,” I muttered, hardly having the energy to raise my voice above a whisper.
“Yeah, it was.” Ethan sounded just as drained as me, but there was a smile on his face—and in his eye—just the same. This was perfect. How lucky was I? Just a few hours ago, I'd been afraid he'd leave me because of the baby in my belly, and now here I was, a changed omega.
Well, notreallychanged, but something close to it anyway. I certainly felt different. Liberated. “We should do that again sometime.”
“Yeah?” Ethan chuckled.
I withdrew from him to roll on my side, facing him. “Next time I might even let you be on top.”
“You might? That would be very generous of you.” He pressed a light kiss to my forehead. “I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. I don't care if you top or if I do.”
“I noticed,” I gave back with a short laugh. I let myself sink back into the sheets, exhaling. Part of me wanted to go to sleep, but my mind was still spinning with the events of the day. “When will the kids be back?” I asked. He'd told me before, but I couldn't remember now.
“Friday,” he said. “So we don't have too long, sadly.”
“I'm not sad. I'm looking forward to seeing them again.”
A soft smile spread on Ethan's lips. “I love that you feel that way.”
And I love you.The words sat on the tip of my tongue, but I didn't utter them. “You have great kids.”
“I do! But do you know you're the only manny Nathan hasn't terrorized yet?”
“Maybe he's making progress,” I suggested.
“He might be. I hope so. I think you're good for the kids. Caleb's making some progress too.”
“Yeah?” That was good news. I liked Caleb and I wanted to see him do better.
“It's his birthday next month and when I asked him what he wanted, he didn't mention his mommy.
That's progress to me.”
Considering how much the boy had wanted his mommy back for Christmas, thatwasprogress. “Good.
Whatdoeshe want? Lego?”
Ethan grinned. “You know my kid.”
“I try. It's my job after all.”
“You're doing a very good job,” Ethan said, kissing me again.
I hoped I was. I wanted to help Ethan and his family.
If I was being completely honest, I wanted to be apartof his family.

Only two days after Rhys came out to me about his pregnancy, I got to accompany him to the doctor's office for a check-up on the baby. He'd stopped wearing hoodies now so everyone could see his baby bump in its full glory—including me. I tried not to stare, but it was difficult. Every time my eyes fell on Rhys, I wanted to drag him out of the waiting room and into the men's room or someplace.
Anywhere we could be alone. Rhys thought I was kidding when I told him how much his pregnant state turned me on, but I wasn't. Not at all.
I kind ofwishedI was because having to hide a hard-on in an OB-GYN's waiting room was a little awkward, not gonna lie. Especially when I knew so many of the people here. There was Mrs. Clark, pregnant with her second child. I'd organized her wedding three years ago. Next to her sat Mr.
Sullivan. I hadn't plannedhiswedding, but his brother's. And then there was Mr. Elliot's daughter sitting across from them on the other side of the room. Mr. Elliot did most of my catering.
