CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
Kian’s mind and heart were at war for the rest of the afternoon.
A part of him wanted to argue with Dorian.
From the way he spoke, it sounded like he believed they were in a relationship.
That was not the case. They were fooling around while Kian was responsible for feeding Dorian.
He didn’t want to admit to himself that he was jealous when Morgan started flirting.
He was just teasing, Morgan wasn’t that forward usually, but it still pissed Kian off.
He almost vibrated with the need to stake a claim.
The conversation replayed in his mind on a loop, and by the time the day was done, the jealousy was so intense, he forgot completely that he’d intended to sit down and discuss with Dorian the limits of their relationship.
At the restaurant, it sounded like Dorian was saying they were in a relationship and he had wanted to set things straight.
He marched straight to Dorian’s office the moment the clock struck five p.m., not bothering to knock as he pushed the door open.
Dorian was hard at work, reading through a contract Kian had brought him from legal earlier that day. He looked surprised to see Kian but not unhappy. That soft smile made Kian’s stomach tighten, and just the thought of Dorian sharing it with someone else compounded the jealousy by a lot.
“You can either drive us to my place, or I’ll portal us. But we need to go. Now.”
Dorian’s eyebrows shot up in surprise, but Kian wasn’t in the mood to wait. He needed this man in his bed. He needed to mark that pretty golden skin so that everyone would know he was satisfied and well taken care of. He needed to not be standing around in Dorian’s office debating this.
“Kian, I’m not–”
“I’m your feeder, Dorian. I get to decide when we have our sessions. And I’m not going to let you overwork yourself and skip meals again. So pick. Car or portal.”
The poor vampire looked disgruntled, but he relented when Kian’s expression never wavered. “Car. I don’t want you to overwork yourself right before having to feed me. Have you checked in with Doctor Chapman recently?”
Kian waved that away, coming around the desk and physically pulling Dorian out of his chair.
He was taking way too long, and Kian felt fine.
He wasn’t going to put himself on that stupid doctor’s radar if he didn’t have to.
If the doctor was too busy to check on him, he only saw that as a good thing.
He tapped his foot impatiently as Dorian grabbed his things and ignored all the questioning looks Dorian kept giving him.
He was about ready to ignore Dorian’s request for a car when the vampire finally gestured for him to leave the office and followed behind him.
Still stewing in his irritation, he said nothing as they waited for the elevator and rode it to the first floor.
He started grumbling when the elevator stopped more than once to pick up more passengers, and his fingers flexed with the urge to open a portal.
Why would people choose to wait this long when they could just open a portal home?
He bit back a growl when Taron waved at them in the lobby, hoping beyond all measure that Dorian didn’t stop and chat. It looked like Taron wouldn’t be deterred without talking to them, and Kian was ready to storm off, but he was stopped by Dorian’s hand around his elbow.
“Hello, Taron,” Dorian greeted politely. “I’m afraid we have somewhere to be right now. Can we catch up later?”
Taron slowed, his head tipped curiously as he glanced between them. “Uh, sure. Just wanted to invite you to Tony’s party. It’s this weekend.”
Dorian dipped his chin in acknowledgement. “Send me a text with the information. We’ll be there.”
Kian wasn’t sure if he was annoyed that Dorian was making the decision for him, or pleased that he just assumed they’d go together. It only made his frustration worse, and he was grateful when Dorian started moving again, leading him outside.
“Are you going to tell me what’s wrong?” Dorian asked once they were no longer surrounded by people. The parking lot was busy with so many people heading home, but Dorian parked his fancy cars in a separate area for CEOs and division leaders, and that parking lot was quiet for the time being.
“Not unless you’re willing to give up on your refusal to have sex in your car,” Kian snapped, jerking his elbow free. He marched over to Dorian’s car, arms crossed over his chest as he waited impatiently for the vampire to unlock it.
Yes, he realized he was being irrational. And yes, probably a little possessive. He couldn’t muster up the energy to care at that exact moment. He wanted that gorgeous, sweet vampire in his bed, and nothing else would settle his mood but that.
Thankfully, Dorian seemed to understand Kian’s mood, because he stopped dragging his feet, opening Kian’s door for him and jogging around the car to the driver’s seat with vampiric speed. Maybe Kian should’ve been more clear about what he wanted.
Of course, leaving when everyone else did meant traffic.
That didn’t help at all with Kian’s mood, and he decided to punish Dorian a little by running his hand up and down the vampire’s thigh, teasing him with what they could be doing if he hadn’t been so stubborn about him not using Kian’s magic.
Dorian’s hands clenched a little harder on the steering wheel with every minute that passed until the leather creaked in protest. When Kian moved a little farther, cupping the bulge between his legs, Dorian let out a harsh breath.
“I’m curious to know what’s–” His breath caught in his throat when Kian gave him a loving squeeze. “What’s brought this mood on?” he croaked.
“What mood?” Kian asked, feigning ignorance. He didn’t want to explain things to Dorian. He might accidentally admit he was jealous.
To distract the vampire from asking too many questions, he slowly unzipped Dorian’s pants, slipping his hand inside to wrap around Dorian’s gorgeous cock.
“K-Kian,” Dorian stuttered, his expression a cross between want and apprehension. Even after a week of really good sex, he still wasn’t ready to risk dirtying his car.
“Don’t worry. Nothing will get ruined as long as you don’t come.”
That got him a horrified look, but the light turned green and traffic moved, drawing Dorian’s attention back out the front window.
It was making Kian feel a little better, torturing the vampire like this.
He stroked his cock inside his slacks, bringing him to full hardness while Dorian gritted his teeth and tried to focus on the road ahead of him.
He thumbed the head, spreading the precum, and grinned when Dorian groaned and his knuckles turned white on the steering wheel.
It was a little dangerous to play with him like this, but Dorian said the car could drive autopilot. If Dorian was truly distracted, he’d turn that feature on. Since he wasn’t willing to give in just yet, Kian didn’t feel bad about keeping up the torture.
Dorian was panting, and there was sweat beading at his temples by the time they pulled up in front of Kian’s apartment. His cock leaked heavily with precum, leaving a hell of a wet spot on his briefs, but not a drop got on to his precious car, so Kian felt like he was in the clear.
“Just park anywhere. There’s no assigned parking,” he said, an easy grin on his face.
Dorian did as he asked, putting the car into park in a spot near the door.
When Kian didn’t immediately move, Dorian shot him an incredulous look, no doubt because Kian’s hand was still in his pants, gently stroking his cock.
Kian raised an eyebrow at him. “What?”
“Are we going to go in?” he practically pleaded, his hips lifting in an aborted thrust as he grew antsy for his release.
“That depends on you, I guess,” Kian teased. “Do you really want to have to walk all the way inside and to my apartment, where I could be stopped by any one of my neighbors asking for something?”
Dorian’s eyes shifted to the apartment, and dread seemed to flicker over his face.
“Or… We could always stay here. A simple spell would prevent anyone from seeing inside.”
It took work not to burst out laughing at the expression on Dorian’s face. Still torn. A few more days of this kind of teasing, and he might very well get the vampire to agree to anything Kian wanted.
With a smirk, Kian pulled his hand free, opening his door to let the cool air breeze through. “Come on, handsome. I’m feeling the urge to get a little rough with you tonight.”
Dorian’s eyes fluttered, his breath stuttering a little. Ooh, someone liked that idea. Good. Kian wasn’t done punishing him yet.
Dorian crowded behind him while Kian unlocked the main door to the apartment complex, practically plastered against his back.
He stayed on Kian’s heels on the walk down the long hallway and hovered as he unlocked his door and dropped the wards long enough for Dorian to join him.
Kian barely had time to lock the door behind them before Dorian was on him, running his tongue over Kian’s neck and pulling his hips back to grind his erection against Kian’s ass.
“You know, if you’re hoping to dissuade me from riling you up again, you’re not really giving me much incentive,” Kian purred over his shoulder.
“I find I don’t mind it so much when it’s you,” Dorian murmured against his neck, nipping the skin gently. Kian shivered from the action, ignoring the flutter in his stomach at Dorian’s words.
Determined to pretend a little while longer that he was unaffected by the vampire, he turned around in Dorian’s arms and put a hand on his chest, leading him backward through the door on the right that led to Kian’s bedroom.
At this point, Dorian knew the way and instead focused on getting his hands on Kian rather than watching where he was going.
The backs of Dorian’s thighs hit the mattress, and he folded automatically, pulling Kian with him into his lap.
Kian allowed it, keeping most of his weight on his knees so he could control how much friction Dorian got.
Sliding his fingers through silky black hair, he tugged experimentally, reveling in the way Dorian’s breath stuttered, and his eyes slipped closed.
Was there anything about the vampire that wasn’t perfect?
The train of thought bothered him, and he reacted to his frustration by nipping Dorian’s chin. He really needed to get a move on. He needed out of his head for a little while.
Pushing Dorian flat on the mattress, he settled more firmly on the man’s lap and ground his hips, drawing out a groan from the panting vampire beneath him.
“How hungry are you?” he asked suddenly. They’d always had sex after a feeding, but never during. That kind of pleasure would definitely get him out of his head.
Dorian’s eyes fluttered open, his pupils blown out. “I… should probably feed before I leave tonight.”
Kian shot him a smile, glad that he was admitting what he needed instead of waiting for Kian to demand it.
“That’s good. Because I want you to bite me while I’m inside you.”
