The man talking to her brother had changed all of it. He had brought stability, love, and something she had once believed was reserved for others, a future filled with hope.

Patrick hadn’t cared about her past, only that she be part of his future. He stepped back now, giving her room to throw her arms around her brother. The brother her husband had embraced as if he was his own blood.
