“Y ou don’t get to be in control,” I said as I started stroking Cole’s length with both hands, slowly increasing my speed. His head shot up, and his steel grey eyes met mine. The way he looked at me tested all of my restraint. He released rough, broken moans as his eyes scanned over my flesh. He withdrew his fingers and raised them to his mouth, sucking my wetness off of them.
“Fuck, Raina, you taste decadent.” Cole’s voice dripped with desire; he spoke the words agonizingly slow. The tender part where his fingers just caressed throbbed in response. Without warning, I sat up and slid back, but he followed my movement, snaking an arm around my waist. He sat back and pulled me into his lap. My breasts pressed against his warm, bare chest. He kissed me, and the taste of my arousal lingered on his tongue. Wetness pooled from me, soaking the thin fabric of his underwear. I rolled my hips, sliding myself against his length and every muscle in his body tense beneath me. I trailed my nails down his back as he dug his fingers into my hips. He moved with me as I pushed his pants down to remove them, letting his hard length rest against my stomach. His skin was soft and ablaze.
Heat radiated between the two of us, utterly electric where our skin met, which seemed to be everywhere at that point. “You took me.” I repeated the accusation from earlier. I whispered against his mouth, “Now, I get to take you.” Letting only a single heartbeat pass, I wrapped my arms around Cole’s neck, pulling myself up enough to where the head of his cock teased my opening. Slick with the fire between us, I slowly slid down onto him, making him sheath as deep as I could take him. My breath left me as he filled me. Cole stilled, as a rumble grew in his chest. I paused, letting my walls tighten around him while savoring the thick pulse inside me. Then inch by inch, I lifted myself off him almost entirely, stopping right before reaching the tip of his hardness. And when I couldn’t take it anymore, I sank back down and took his entire length inside me.
Rapture…
Time relinquished any convection, and we lost ourselves in each other. As I rode Cole with him deep in my center, feeling him caress so many intimate parts of me, I pressed the heels of my palms into his shoulders until he laid back against the gravel sand. Tilting forward, I grinded my hips into his until I was at just the right angle—the one that made me see stars. I tipped my head down and our eyes met. Cole’s were fierce pools of steel as he focused entirely on me. Tilting his chin, he reached his mouth to claim mine.
While locked in an endless kiss, his fingers entwined in my hair, and his other hand gripped the crease between my hip and my thigh, locking me into place as his hips matched my rhythm. His hardness pierced me, making me gasp each time he thrust to meet my movement against him. Tension built inside of me, and my skin felt flamed. An intense jerk from Cole’s hips made me catch myself by breaking away from where our lips met and reaching backward to brace myself on his thighs. Leaning back, I felt his arousal thrust against that painfully diverting spot inside of me, sending a jolt that made me moan his name. “Cole, please, just like that,” I said breathlessly. His eyes darkened in response, and I felt him grow even harder inside of me. The ache was almost painful.
Beside us, the black flames of the bonfire reached a peak height, and the cries from the burning locket gave way to the crackle and hiss of the burning wood. I rolled my neck as my Aecor collected in my center, causing tremors to run through me, and Cole’s touch trailed up and down my spine as we kept rhythm. As if the power inside of me was climbing to a breaking point, I felt the flames roll through me, and I felt everything at once. The crisp salt air billowed through my loosened hair. The gravel dug into my knees as I rode Cole. Sea spray from the small waves crashing against the strewn boulders along the cove’s coastline. But what I felt most was Cole.
From under heavy, hooded eyes, I looked at Cole between my thighs, and the sight intensified the power building inside me. As I kept my gaze on his mouth, which he held slightly open while watching me take him, the muscles in his stomach tensed and became even more defined as he began to succumb to the building pleasure. As I straddled him, I let go of his thigh and trailed over my own before tracing tight circles at the peak of my center, chasing my own release.
Ripping from his throat, Cole growled, “My fucking perfect Storm.” as he watched me. Rocking against him, my thighs began to tremble, warmth coiling low. He slid a hand up my stomach, continuing up until my jaw rested in his palm. His thumb traced my bottom lip and dipped inside of my mouth. Closing my lips around him, I sucked and licked, and he growled at the view, sending another wave of arousal through me and soaking me even more.
“You are so fucking wet.” His voice was deep and hoarse. Hesitating for only a moment, his hand moved away from my mouth and caressed my neck, wrapping his fingers around the skin of my nape. A short, throaty laugh of pleasure escaped me, permitting him to tighten his hold. The muscles in my core throbbed against his cock in response. With both my hands, I held onto his forearm, and I used him as leverage to lift myself and slide back down to chase that deep, toe-curling stretch again. Losing myself, I almost became feral—bouncing on his hardness with each ragged breath. “My fucking god, you take me so well,” he rasped, and he shut his eyes, tilting his head back as his mouth hung open in bliss. His sound sent me over the edge, but I gritted my teeth. Not yet . I circled my hips and rolled them forward, repeating the motion until I moaned with each upward thrust from Cole. As I quickened my pace, he gripped my ass with both hands, guiding my hips and exaggerating my movement against him. Wetness pooled from me, making the skin between our bodies slick as I rode him, hard.
Reaching an nearly excruciating level of pure desire, I cried out Cole’s name. The tension inside of me snapped and I came undone, spiraling into euphoric oblivion as he continued our pace. His hips crashed upward into mine as he took control and held me in place. And my body melted against his. His movement between my thighs sent waves of fire through me as my orgasm dragged out.
As I whimpered into his chest, Cole pressed his lips against my ear. “You have pulled me under, my violent Storm.” Shaking, I pulsed against his length as he pumped in and out of me. A growl tore through Cole as he came undone, pounding into me even deeper and ripping me apart with his release. The sight and feel of him unraveling beneath me caused me to cry out as a second wave of an orgasm rushed through me.
I felt his Aecor rise in me, and I looked down at him in surprise. His eyes blazed, and he showed no hint of exhaustion—far from being finished with me. The pyre was reduced to embers, and the crisp breeze caused my skin to bloom with goosebumps. He traced his hands up my stomach, over my breasts, and held my face. His body tightened as he sat up still inside me, hips locked against his. I slid my fingers into his hair and kissed him as deeply as he had kissed me. Something unlocked inside me. Where my bones had been transformed into stone from a lifetime of tragedy, his touch eroded the pain, replacing it all with something I was too afraid to identify. I could see literal starlight in his eyes, emanating from somewhere deep inside of him.
“You are so beautiful,” Cole breathed against my cheek. He pulled back and the warm amber glow lit his face. “Your eyes, they are shining.” His own widened as he said the words.
“Y—Yours are too.” I blinked. “What—” I shook my head. Aecor rippled through me with the aftershocks of my climax, and I could feel it do the same to Cole.
“Magic presents itself in many different ways.” He pressed his forehead to mine. “Perhaps we just discovered a new facet of your power,” he smirked, and I melted.
Water lapped against the cove’s shoreline as the embers sizzled and died. The charred locket looked dull in the middle of the ashes, and no trace of Aecor emitted from it.
“Take it. It is yours.” Cole folded my hand over the cool metal. Apprehensively, I wiped the soot off with my sweater, and I pulled both items over my head. As my head emerged from the neck of the sweater, Cole gave me the lightest kiss that made my heart skip a beat.
We walked in near silence through the brush until we came to a dirt road where his truck was parked. I let out a sigh of relief.
“Is there something wrong?” Cole asked as he opened the passenger door.
“Nothing at all. I’m just glad I don’t have to walk all the way home. It took a while to get to the cove.”
“You walked? Why?”
“I didn’t know where I was going, I didn’t think about it.”
After we got in and started the car, he turned onto the road that wound along the edge of the island, back toward my apartment. “What do you mean you didn’t know?”
“I’m not sure how to describe it. I just felt like I needed to go for a walk, to go . Like a compulsion. Why?”
Cole smirked at me sideways and kept his eyes on the road. “It is quite unbelievable. You are unbelievable.” He gave our a hearty, rich laugh. The way it thundered made me jump, but the way his eyes creased with genuine happiness did something to me, something I wasn’t sure how to explain. “I’m sorry,” he settled into a chuckle, “You just have no idea how long I have waited for you.”
Night was fading away into dawn as the sun’s red glow crept over the horizon. Stars blinked out one by one as the rays slowly rose in the sky. The white snow looked pink in the morning light as we pulled up to my apartment. I turned to thank Cole for the ride, but he was already out of the truck, walking around to open my door. His chivalry took me aback, as I was used to him scowling and brooding anytime I saw him at the docks. My face must have shown as much.
“Are you going to fight me for being a gentleman?” Something in his smile made it a challenge. I stuttered, caught off guard by the unexpected playfulness and settled into my own smirk.
“No, I won’t fight you,” I shouldered by him as I moved past, “not this time.”
Cole grabbed my bicep and pulled me into his hard chest. “That’s a shame, my treacherous Storm,” he purred in my ear before he stepped aside to let me climb the stairs. I stopped on the first step, causing him to bump into me.
“I am not your anything,” I said, and then climbed the rest of the way. His hand grasped mine before I could unlock the door.
“Mine,” he growled, and his face held the same intensity as when he tore through Griffin at the Forge ruins—the same aggressiveness as when he held me down on the settee in the cell where he kept me for days. I sucked in a breath as goosebumps spread across my skin. He kissed me, biting my bottom lip hard enough that I yelped, yet it sent a delicious electricity through my core. He must have swiped my keys while doing so, because he moved us through the door and straight to my bed. I had been right in the cove—he wasn’t finished with me.
