Isabeau grabbed a glass and held it up. There was a bit of a commotion as everyone who had emptied their glass grabbed a new one, but then we all held them aloft for the toast. Half of my mind was still on Samantha’s message.

“All good?” Anthony asked. “Are you not feeling well?”

Then we turned to clink glasses with everyone and continued the celebration.

ANTHONY

“Welcome to my kingdom,”Daisy said a few hours later as we went into her apartment. She was visibly more relaxed. “It’s not as huge as yours.”

“It’s very you,” I said, looking around.

“Want to take a shower?” she asked.

I placed my hands at the side of her neck. “Want to shower together?”

She laughed softly.

“What?”

“I was certain that you had sexy thoughts in mind.”

“Always. But I did very well until now.”

“Yes, you did.”

She licked her lips and turned around. I followed her to the bathroom. It wasn’t big, but her bathtub was large enough that we could both step inside. She also had a full-length mirror on the door, giving me lots of ideas.
