Chapter Five
Fox
“So, who’s the shifter you were with?” Stealth asks as I walk over to the bar. At my look, he shrugs. “I can smell her all over you.”
“My mate,” I growl out, taking the beer that Teeny hands me.
“Really? That’s great, Fox,” Stealth replies, slapping me on the back. “Think she’ll like the girls?”
I chuckle as I think about Tressa, Nini, and Vivi in the same space. “Yeah, I suspect the three of them will become good friends.”
“Wonder if she likes to read?” he muses. “Another of those MMM signings is coming up and even though they’re both pregnant, they plan to attend. If she does, she can go with them since it’ll be easier for us to keep an eye on all three of them.”
I shudder when I remember the hell we went through when Tressa went. The poor woman got kidnapped, then Chaos practically lost his mind and went completely off the rails once he tracked her to where they were keeping her. I’m not easily grossed out at all but seeing the remnants of the men who dared to touch Tressa makes horror films look like a Saturday morning cartoon.
“Hopefully, we don’t have the drama we had the last time,” I remark, causing him to shudder as well.
“Yeah, because I know me and Chaos are both on a short leash where our tempers are concerned. I don’t understand it, either, because neither one of us typically jump the gun where anything’s concerned. It’s one of the reasons y’all voted us into these positions.”
“I suspect that when there’s a mate involved, all bets are off,” I reply. I mean, I can’t lie, I’d have eviscerated the fucker who dared to touch my mate as well. Still gruesome as fuck.
“I told her I’d send her the address to the clubhouse,” I tell him, taking a long pull off my beer.
He chuckles then says, “I get wanting her in your own den, brother.”
“That’s precisely it. I never anticipated finding my mate, Stealth. Yet, already, I can picture her, Tressa, and Nini getting this place in tip-top shape. Not that the girls haven’t already done a great job with it, but Vivi’s different. I suspect she’ll bring the calm to their calamity.”
He laughs so hard that Chaos comes walking over and slaps the back of his head. “My mate’s sleeping, fucker.”
“As if she can hear through the soundproofing we all have in our suites, asshole,” Stealth retorts, smacking him back. “Fox found his mate in town today.”
Chaos’s eyes grow wide, and he drops onto a stool, motioning for a beer. After he takes his own long pull from the bottle and wipes the froth from his mouth, he asks, “You did? You weren’t gone that long.”
“She happens to own the apothecary where I found the stuff for the girls,” I reply.
“Hurry up and complete the bond before she finds out how you really are,” Stealth advises.
“You know mates don’t care, fucker, otherwise, Nini would’ve gone back to where she and Tressa used to live,” Chaos says.
“Nonna will like that there’s another mate running around here,” Stealth adds. At Chaos’s look he asks, “What? You know she’s thrilled about all the changes that have occurred around the clubhouse. Even the club girls are behaving these days.”
“That’s probably because Tressa told them all, in no uncertain terms, that mated males were off the table,” Chaos retorts. “Of course, I don’t want anyone else, which makes that a moot point, but still, she decided to make sure there was no room for error.”
I snicker, because Tressa has gone from a shy, somewhat meek human to a bold, confident female since she and Chaos mated. I don’t know if the dynamics will be any different since Vivi is already a wolf, but I guess we’ll find out. Finishing the last of my beer, I set it on the bar top and hit it with my hand. “I’m out. Need some sleep.”
“Later, Fox,” they say in unison.
“I wouldn’t stay up too late, I’m sure your mates will need something,” I call out as I head to the stairs that’ll lead me to my suite of rooms.
While all the rooms are practically mini apartments, as the president, mine is the largest. Once I’m inside, I look around trying to see it the way Vivi will. I already have matching bedroom furniture, complete with an empty triple dresser, as well as another closet that’s stood vacant, waiting for the day I found my mate. She might want a different color scheme, though, since I noticed she seemed to be partial to greens and purples. I guess they’d more accurately be called sage and lavender, but it’s not like I sit at the local hardware store memorizing paint chips.
Shrugging, I head into my bathroom, turn on the shower then while the water is heating up, stripping out of my clothes, hanging my cut up on the hook behind the door and then tossing my clothes in the hamper. Since I don’t let anyone clean my den, I found it was a lot easier to keep things neat from the get-go. As I step into the shower stall, I let my mind wander over Vivienne while I let the water flow down my body.
She’s perfect for us , my wolf whispers as I pour shampoo into my hands then begin to wash my hair. Most of us tend to wear our hair shorter, almost military length in some instances, so it doesn’t take long to move on to washing my body. When our shared kiss crosses my mind, I take my hardened cock in hand and proceed to jack off with thoughts of Vivi on her knees as I pump into her delectable mouth, her plump lips surrounding my hardness. It doesn’t take long for me to call out her name as my seed paints the shower wall. As the water hits it and it slides down the drain, my thoughts drift to the time when it’ll be her body and her pussy that’ll receive my cum.
After I finish washing, I completely rinse off, clean the shower, then step out, grabbing a towel to wrap around my waist. Once I have my hair combed and teeth brushed, I finish drying off, then stride through my room naked, grabbing a bottle of water from the mini fridge that sits in the corner before I slide between the cool sheets.
I decide to send Vivi a text before I go to sleep so I grab the phone I placed on the charger earlier and go into the messaging app. I prefer to talk to people versus text, but it’s too late to call her and I just put clean sheets on the bed, so I don’t want to be jerking off for a second time after hearing her voice.
Me: Hey, wanted to let you know I made it home. Enjoyed myself tonight, Vivi. See you soon.
Vivi: I did too, Fox. Glad you got home safe and sound. Don’t forget to send me the address for the clubhouse.
Me: Doing that now.
I quickly send her the address for our clubhouse and wait for her response. Shit, I feel like a teenage male right now chasing after a crush or something.
Vivi: Got it. I can come out on Friday if that’s okay?
Ugh, I have to wait two days to see her? Fuck. This might be the death of me. Then inspiration strikes and I decide we’ll have a cookout so she can meet everyone in a relaxed environment.
Me: That’s perfect. You’ll likely meet everyone, but we’ll make it easy and have a cookout.
Vivi: LOL. No pressure, huh? I’ll just be under a microscope is all.
Me: You’ll get to meet Tressa and Nini. Oh, and Chaos’s grandma. Everyone calls her Nonna.
Vivi: I don’t remember my grandmother. Some hunters killed her and several other packmates before I was born.
Me: I’m sorry to hear that. Don’t worry, she’ll take you under her wing like she’s done the girls.
Vivi: I’m looking forward to it. Can I bring anything?
Me: Just yourself. Good night, Vivi. Sweet dreams.
Vivi: You too, Fox.
My dreams are vivid and center around Vivi, as well as the fucker who thought he could claim my mate. As I dress for the day, I decide I need to have Popeye, our IT guy, do a deep dive on her former pack. Once I’m downstairs, I notice most of the brothers are around, eating breakfast, so I walk into the kitchen where Nonna, Tressa, and Nini are cooking, while the club girls serve.
“Sit anywhere, Fox, and we’ll fix you a plate,” Nonna orders. Turning to Tressa, she lightly smacks her hand. “That pan is too heavy for you, child.”
“Nonna, I’ve got shifter strength, remember?” Tressa asks.
“You’re carrying my great-grandchild. A paper plate is too heavy for you,” Nonna retorts, causing Tressa to roll her eyes.
“Fine, whatever. Maybe I should check with Chaos,” Tressa muses.
I chuckle, because ever since Nonna found out both women were expecting, she’s insisted that they back off from some of the things they were doing, then she enlisted the club girls to ensure shit got done. I know both the women could handle stuff just fine, they’re appeasing Nonna, but it’s funny to watch them try to push against her edicts.
Teeny brings me a loaded plate, along with a cup of black coffee. “Thanks, Teen,” I say.
“Not a problem, Fox.” Leaning in, she says, “I like the way things are around here nowadays. It’s pretty peaceful.”
I raise shocked eyes in her direction, but don’t ask any questions. Our club girls can stay or go; we don’t keep them against their will, so to hear that at least one of them likes the changes that have happened since both women arrived is nice.
As more brothers amble into the kitchen to get food, I simply call out, “Church once we’re all done eating.”
“Got it, Pres,” several reply through mouthfuls of food.
“I’ll pass that on in our group chat,” Popeye states, sitting down with his own plate.
“Appreciate it, Brother,” I reply.
Conversation swirls around me as I think about everything I want to cover today in our meeting. Outside of how our businesses are doing, I need to let them know I’ve found my mate and that we’re going to have a cookout to help her feel more at ease. I’m sure Tressa and Nini will take her under their wings, and anticipate a lot of cackling going on, especially if Nonna joins their group.
