Chapter Epilogue

It has been six months since Sergei was buried. I wish I could say everything had ended since then, but that isn’t the case. The war is still continuing but this time Vlad has taken over everything.

For the past six months, Maksim has been so involved with everything that he hasn’t been spending so much time with me. I finally begged him to go to the beach house with me.

We pull up to the house and it is just as beautiful as I thought it would look. The outside of the house is all white with a beach house vibe to it. There are trees surrounding the house to give it a sense of privacy.

“This is gorgeous!” I whisper to Maksim.

He’s around the car helping me out in a matter of seconds. He reaches his hand into the car to help me out. I accept it eagerly.

“Come on, little fish.”

I love when he calls melittle fish.It is so cute how he constantly tries to give me the love and support. He hasn’t told me he loves me yet, but he shows it every day.

We walk towards the beach house and I hear the waves crashing against the beach that I can see from the front of the house.

“I never want to leave here,” I tell him.

Maksim smiles and kisses me on the cheek. “I’m glad to hear it.”

We walk in through house and I’m shocked at what I see. There are candles lit everywhere and flower petals that cover the tiled floor. In the distance, I can hear a piano playing.

“Did you do this?” I ask.

He smirks again. “Of course, little fish.”

Dinner is served and on the table by the time we get there. I didn’t see anyone leave the house so I’m surprised the food is still fresh. Maksim pulls out the chair for me to sit down and he kisses me chastely on the lips.

I sit and wait for him to be seated.

We eat and talk about everything and nothing at all. It is the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me.

“Little fish,” Maksim breathes out and reaches into his pocket.

My heart skips a beat as he pulls out the little red box. Shit! What is in the box?

“I know our life has just begun together and I know I want to spend it with you. Will you do me the honor of being my wife?”

Tears stream down my face at the beautiful pink diamond that must be three karats. The ring is surrounded by little diamonds around the center of it. It is absolutely the most extraordinary ring.

“Yes!”
