Pretty eater.
It was something one of my followers called me years ago, and it then turned into my brand and a whole fan base. Nowadays, “eater” has a whole new meaning, but it was too late for me to change it. For some reason, Tunan calling me the nickname, I felt like he didn't mean it in the context of my brand.

I got that paperwork you wanted drawn up. Come on. Plus, I can take you to a spot that will for sure have your views going up. Best food you’d ever eat.
“My views are already up,”I mumbled.
“What was that, sister?” Glee said, trying to get any bit of information out of me.
Sticking my tongue out at Glee, I exited the text thread and went to Delta’s website. It only took three taps for me to find that flight he’d sent. For the round trip, it was only a little over four hundred dollars. He’d sent three times that amount. I didn’t know if it was desperation that had me checking out the flight or pure curiosity.
My God, am I really that desperate to be in the friend group that I’m considering this stupid shit?
I’d just been bragging about how my mama had done a good job raising us, but that statement may have been flawed. I was stupid as hell, especially since my ticket was secured. I was acting a whole damn fool out here for a man that I hardly knew, all because he was a path for me to no longer be the outcast of my friends. It was too late to beat myself up, so I pushed off the counter and gave my attention to my sister.
“Glee.”
“Hmm?” She held back a grin as if she already knew what I was going to ask her.
“What time does Blayke’s flight get in?”
She placed her last half-eaten burger down. I didn’t know where Glee’s food went. As of late she ate what she wanted and didn’t gain a pound. Well, she’d gained the freshman fifteen, but if she kept walking around campus for the next few years, she'd lose it.
“So you getting flewed out?”
I stomped. “Girl! What time is her flight coming?”
Glee’s smile didn't vanish; she simply picked her phone up to check the time.“In a little under three hours. She had a layover in Kentucky.”
I shook my head. That was wild considering the flight from here to Sparkling City was about thirty-eight minutes, depending on the pilot.
“Don’t have no boys in my house.” I pointed at her as I walked out of the kitchen to pack a bag.
I’d be back here by noon tomorrow, but I still couldn't travel without my necessities. I had TSA PreCheck, so I didn’t have to worry about getting to the airport more than thirty minutes before my flight. I usually traveled in something comfortable, but since Tunan would be picking me up once the plane landed, I was about to beat my face and get fly.
By the time I had my carry-on from the hall closet unzipped but packed on my bed, my sister was in the doorframe of my room. “I’m serious about the boys, Glee.”
I knew my sister and her bestie were adults by law, but I didn’t want anyone in my house while I was in another city. Niggas were grimy. I wasn’t worried about them taking shit except of advantage of my sister. Blayke could hold her own, and materials could be replaced, but stealing my baby sister’s innocence was irreplaceable and would grant me a first-class flight to jail. I wasn’t playing behind Calista Glee, ever. She was too fucking good for these niggas.
Glee folded her arms.“Boys are the last thing on either of our minds.” Her words were laced with hurt, and it made me snap my head up.
“Did something happen at the school, Calista?” I stopped tossing underwear into the bag, ready to burn Blake University to the ground behind mine.
Glee waved her hand. “No, Glow. I’m just not worried about men.”
“Men, hunh?” I squinted my eyes.
“Boys… men… same thing. I’m not focused on them. Now, where you flying to?”
Opening another drawer, I grabbed a pair of pajamas. I didn't fully believe my sister, but I would let it go for now. When I got back, I was going to figure out what had gone down all those months she hadn't been taking my calls. My initial intuition was proving to be correct.
“Memphis.”
Her eyes expanded, but her smile widened. “Oh, baby… you got yourself a certified YN. How the hell you get caught up with a Memphis nigga?”
I didn't have an answer for Glee because, at this point, I was asking myself the same thing.
