“How does anyone wake up that beautiful?”

Her gaze jumped from his mouth to his eyes. “Your eyes aren’t even open.”

“I peeked. Still pretty.”

Something soft and light fluttered in her stomach. “I was just thinking how hideous you are.”

“Brat.” He pinched her hip and she squeaked.

The kitten roused and moved right into pounce mode. Greyson wiggled a finger to scratch his head, which then turned into a teasing game of get-the-finger-snake.

When he got tired of the game, he set the kitten on the floor where it pounced on a crumpled receipt abandoned in the corner.

Wren watched enchanted as Grey stretched and groaned. There had never been someone more comfortable in their own skin.

His stare met hers again and his smile was subtle but full of secrets. “Hungry?”

How did he do that? How did he act so casual as if waking up with someone naked in his bed happened regularly?

Then she had a terrible thought. Did this happen regularly? How many other women had awakened right in this spot?

Her stomach tightened with unexpected jealousy, and she clenched her jaw against the unwelcome images that flooded her mind. Soft prancing sounds echoed across the floor as the kitten discovered the laces of Greyson’s boots.

“Not really.” She decided to keep her sudden girlfriend psychosis to herself. Did that make her his girlfriend? Her brain raced way too fast for seven-thirty in the morning. “Areyouhungry?”

“I could eat.” His hand slipped between her legs, startling her.

“Oh.”

“This okay?”

“Um…Sure?”

His other hand slipped under the covers, pulling her close. His palm splayed flat on her belly as he curled possessively around her. She hadn’t expected to jump right into—“Hello.”

He chuckled, his stiff cock nudging at her back.

There was no effort to pull back. Fingers teased. Soft kisses peppered her shoulder. Shivers raced up her spine. He was really going for it. Her toes curled as he pulled her legs open, sliding his hand lower—then her phone rang.

“Shit.”

“Do you have to get that?”

She gave him an apologetic look and nervously scooted out of bed, holding a pillow to her front. “It’s probably Bodhi wondering where I am.”

Greyson rolled to his back and folded his arms behind his head, the blankets tenting over the enormous erection standing like a maypole between them.

The sight of him displayed like that made her breath catch. Part of her wanted to ignore the phone completely and return to bed, to lose herself in him again. But responsibility called, even if her body protested.

She snatched her phone off the nightstand. “Hey, Dad.”

“I’m at your door.”

“Oh…I’m not there.”

“Where’d you run off to this early in the morning? The Elders aren’t even up yet.”

“I, uh, had to drop something off at Greyson’s. What did you need?”
