"Don't answer it,"Christopher said. "The man has to give us some time off. We're decorated, commended agents now."

Paige shook her head. Agent Sauermight have been the one to put them forward for commendations in the wake ofcatching two of the country's most deadly serial killers, but that didn't meanhe would let his two best agents simply ignore him.

"You know it doesn't work likethat," Paige said. She then answered the phone. "Sir, what can I dofor you?"

"King, is Marriott there withyou?"

These days, it was a safe bet.

"He is."

"Good, I need both of you inthe office ASAP."

"What is it, sir?" Paigeasked.

"We have a case. A serial killer. One I think could use your expertise. How soon can you get here?"

Paige looked over at Christopher."Give us half an hour."

She hung up. There were always morekillers out there. Stopping two of them didn't put an end to it, but at leastshe and Christopher could do something to catch the ones who were still outthere.

It might not be someone else's ideaof a happy ending, but for Paige, it was more than enough.
