And since she wasn’t hushing him or telling him not to continue… “Quinley Anders, I haven’t been the same since the day you came into my life. I don’t deserve you, but I love you and I’d like the honor of being your husband. Will you marry me?”

Tears overflowed her eyes and rolled down her cheeks as Quinley held out her trembling hand and nodded repeatedly. “Yes, yes, Elias— I will. That wasbeautiful.”

He slid the ring on her finger and then kissed it before he stood, using his hold to tug her into his arms. He cradled her close and stared into her eyes, thumbs wiping her tears away before he pressed his lips to hers and kissed her like a man in love, one who wore his emotions on his face for all to see, to photograph and cheer on from inside the restaurant while he closed his eyes and breathed her in and held his love tighter in his arms.

Elias nodded once, glad he’d taken Finn’s advice along with all the others who’d told him to go after what he wanted.Whohe wanted. To not let fear win.

His brothers had been right. Quinley was worth the effort, the fear he felt and locked down every time he slipped into the past and imagined life without her.

“I knew it,” Quinley whispered, her teeth catching and holding her plump lower lip.

He smiled at her light, teasing tone, watching as she admired the ring now sparkling on her hand. “Knew what?”

She leaned her head back and lifted her face to his, rising to her tiptoes to kiss him.

“That my getaway guy is myforever guy.”
