“I agree,” he replied. He leaned away from her, taking in her disheveled and half-naked state.
She giggled nervously. “Like what you see?”
“I do.”
They both looked toward the door when they heard voices echoing through the concourse, Sutton’s eyes widening.
“Time to go,” he said.
Between kisses, he helped straighten her clothes, making sure everything was back in place before he stuck his head out the doors to ensure no one was coming.
“Coast is clear,” he said, taking her hand to walk out together.
To their relief, Jace was still performing, so they slipped back onto the field without anyone having realized they were gone. Reese looked down at their joined hands and smiled, the realization that heliked herhitting him like a ton of bricks.
And it’s not because we just messed around.
He liked the passion she showed for her foundation, the way she laughed, and the way she fit into his life with ease. The only time he was ever nervous around her was when he first met her, and that was because he was struck by how beautiful she was.
You really do like her. Shit.
“You okay?” she asked, looking up at him.
“Yeah,” he replied, tugging her into his arms with her back to his chest.
He didn’t let her go for the rest of the afternoon, enjoying the rest of the concert with her tucked firmly against his chest, right where he wanted her to be.
Sutton saton her couch on Saturday afternoon, her mind wandering back to the Vols locker room and Reese’s hands on her body…
“Calm down, Sutton,” she muttered, trying to focus on the papers in front of her.
She hadn’t seen Reese since that afternoon, both of them busy with work, her with the charity gala and him with the preparation for the big game.
He also had to shoot for the commercial for Reboot, along with some promotional material for the game itself.
She sighed and tossed the seating chart down on the coffee table in front of her. She had stared at it for so long, she couldn’t look at it anymore.
“It was one time,” she said, plopping back against the couch.
But it was a mind-blowing one time.
She sighed, putting her hand over her eyes with a groan. Her eyes popped open when her phone went off, her heart fluttering with happiness when she saw his name there.
Reese texted her every day to see how she was doing and ask how her day was going, and it honestly made her so happy.
Especially since she received her dress from Lo’s early—the gown delivered to her office on Friday afternoon.
She immediately texted him to let him know, sending him a picture when she tried it on last night.
His appreciation of the way it fit still made her blush.
Reese
Good morning, beautiful.
Sutton
Good morning to you, too.
