“You would know,” Wayne snorts, with a cocky expression.
Santiago crouches beside him and leans in close, then says in a low tone, “I’m going to enjoy listening to you scream. Soon you’ll reek of piss and shit, and no amount of begging will make us stop.”
It shuts Wayne up and strips the cockiness from his face.
The guards come back in, and while they get the other two, Santiago hauls Wayne up, saying, “Run, and I shoot. Enzo hasn’t let me in on the fun, and I’m itching to pull the trigger.”
We move the men to the SUVs, and not soon enough, we head toward the factory. I’ll instruct the guards I have placed there to tell the workers to take a few days off while I torture these bastards.
Once we have the men locked in one of the offices, I dial John’s number.
He answers on the third ring, “Yes, boss? Are you on your way back yet now that you’ve taken care of the MC?”
“Not yet. The workers at the factory are causing trouble. I need you to come take over from me. I have other work that I have to take care of and can’t waste more time in this shit hole.”
I hear the excitement in his voice as he says, “I’ll catch the first flight out.”
“There will be a car for you at the airport. Don’t make me wait.”
I end the call and glance at Santiago. “Let’s go home and get some sleep.”
He nods and orders the guards, “No one comes in and no one leaves. They only get water and give them a bucket to piss in.”
As we walk out of the factory, I’m so over Aurora that I decide to shut it down before I leave for Lisbon. I don’t want any ties to this place where Jenna suffered.
Chapter 27
JENNA
When I wake up after nine, the mansion is quiet, and I lie in bed processing today.
The last thing I expected was to hear JJ’s voice. Gosh, what are the odds that Enzo knows him? What an insane turn of events.
I get up and walk to the bathroom, wondering what Enzo is going to do with the four men.
Whatever it is, they deserve it.
Not only did they destroy my life when I was seventeen, but Wayne, Kirk, and Derek taunted me every time they came to the gas station. It forced me to relive the nightmare over and over.
I switch on the faucets, and while the tub fills, I add some bath salts before getting undressed.
I don’t want what happened today to affect all the progress I’ve made. I refuse to take a step backward just because I heard JJ’s voice.
Climbing into the tub, I take my time washing myself with the expensive bodywash Enzo got me.
I think back to that week we spent in Minneapolis and what we did the day we returned home.
Enzo hasn’t tried to be intimate with me since, and I don’t have the guts to initiate things.
Once I’m done, I climb out of the tub and let the water drain. Just as I reach for a towel, I hear the bedroom door open.
“Meu amor?”
Standing butt naked in the bathroom, I squeak, “Uhm…be right out.”
I quickly grab the towel, and as I wrap it around my body, Enzo appears in the doorway. Slowly, his gaze drifts over me, and when his eyes darken, nerves begin to spin in my stomach.
My heart beats faster when Enzo steps closer to me. “How are you feeling?”
