CHAPTER 36
MITCH
TWO DAYS LATER
S tacey busts through the front door of her apartment like a bull running through the streets.
“I found one!” she screams as the door swings closed behind her.
As she stands there triumphantly holding a newspaper in the air, my breath leaves my lungs for what must be the millionth time. But that’s just what happens when I look at her. You’d think I’d be used to it by now, but I don’t think I’ll ever really get used to the beauty that is Stacey Anderson. Inside and out, she’s a showstopper.
And she’s mine.
Well, at least I think she is. We haven’t exactly talked about it yet.
“I went to three stores and finally convinced a guy at the coffee shop to give me his copy for $25,” she says.
“It’s a newspaper,” I say. “Aren’t they like $2 a day?”
“I am framing this and you can’t stop me,” she says, flipping through the pages until she reaches what she’s looking for. “There it is! You look so great in this picture.”
“The picture is hardly the point,” I say. “That’s just so people know I’m the dude who plays next to Caleb Mack.”
I take a step around her so I can see what she’s looking at.
It’s perfect.
